About
This Space

The Villa St-Saturnin Provence luxury rental is an elegant and spacious six-bedroom vacation home situated in the heart of the Luberon National Park, only forty-five minutes from Avignon and one hour from historic Aix-en-Provence. Once an important 13th century Templar site, this historic property is set in an enclosed courtyard where a traditional basin and old fountain form an unusual and exquisite swimming pool. Mature fruit trees, rows of lavender and rosemary, and other typical Provencal plants and flowers populate the interior and exterior gardens, a dream-like backdrop for your luxurious Provençal holiday

Decorated by its architect/designer owners, this convent was converted into an elegant home offering the perfect combination of modern comfort and historic architectural details. The furniture is a delightful collection of French and English antiques, all of which have been chosen with great care and create an environment enjoying every moment of your French experience. The living areas are spread over three floors: on the ground floor you will find a classic reception parlor, a formal dining room, a large and professionally equipped French country kitchen, and a casual and comfortable lounging room with a large sofa and a flat screen television. The six bedrooms occupy the top two floors, including a studio with private kitchen available for additional visitors. Each bedroom and bathroom is decorated in its own unique style, with charming canopies, luxurious sleigh beds, claw foot bathtubs and sinks set in wrought iron powder tables.

The outdoor spaces surrounding the villa offer endless charm. Enjoy dinner under the stars at the twelve seat dining area or lounge around the pool and admire the scenery, which includes two magnificent Cedars of Lebanon, said to be the oldest and tallest in all of Provence. This property is truly unique and will offer you an unforgettable stay.

St-Saturnin-les- Apt and Apt

Provence is famous for its wines, antique shopping, hiking, biking and dining, all of which are within reach of the St-Saturnin villa. You are ideally situated a fifteen minutes walk from the medieval village of St-Saturnin-les-Apt, a traditional Provençal village that has retained its authentic charm. With two excellent bakers, good general store, butcher, pharmacy and several wonderful restaurants and bars, you will find everything you need here.

Another easy destination is the nearby village of Apt, only a seven minute drive from your holiday villa. It is a bustling town with an enormous Saturday market full of amazing produce, spices, cheese, bread, wine, and lovely objects of the Provence region. There are many interesting boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and a picturesque cobbled pedestrian city center to explore.

If you are looking to experience Provence this is the place to go. Our first trip to Provence in the late spring/early summer. We didn't know what to expect and we had such a wonderful week. This house was the perfect place to rest up, tour the local towns, markets, vinyards and to take in the whole culture. All these wonderful hill towns and vistas are an easy drive away. The house was so comfortable. Very quiet and relaxing, the pool was great. Wonderful kitchen and the outdoor area perfect for long evening dinners and games. A magical experience. Highly recommended. Just be careful if you walk around outside the property; there are wild boars in the area !
