About
The Area
Covering Paris’ central 3rd and 4th arrondissements, the Marais is the oldest neighborhood in the city, where medieval roads and architecture now contain designer boutiques, intimate museums, hip cafés, and hidden gardens. Just down the street from the Hôtel de Ville city hall, the Pompidou museum exhibits a wonderful range of modern art on four, expansive floors. In the center of the Marais, thanks to its historic Jewish heritage, you’ll find take-away and sit-down falafel restaurants and delis aplenty, including the world-famous L’As du Falafel, the newer Miznon, and ever-popular Sacha Finkelsztajn deli. Pick up a sweet treat from Pierre Hermé, Café Pouchkine, or L’Éclair de Génie and enjoy it in the calm sunshine of Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris, or escape the crowds at the hidden Rosiers-Joseph Migneret garden. History buffs will appreciate the Musée Carnavalet, a history museum dedicated to the city of Paris, as well as the fascinating Musée des Archives, both troves of rare documents and artifacts. The recently renovated Picasso museum and the hunting museum, Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, are fantastic options as well. Head towards metro St-Paul to rummage through the most unique antique and vintage shops in the area. Much of the Marais’ popular and varied nightlife scene caters to Paris’ gay population, but there is undoubtedly something to please everyone. The North Marais, toward Place de la République, is where you’ll find the delicious marché des Enfants Rouge and nearby cultural event center, Carreau du Temple, surrounded by a number of Paris’ trendiest cafés and clandestine cocktail bars.

Reviews
The apartment was clean, updated and air conditioned! The location was perfect and we will definitely rent this place the next time we visit Paris.
My teenage daughters and I rented the Marais Retreat for a week in June. The apartment is exactly as pictured. The apartment was perfect! A great location and a wonderful respite between outings in Paris. It is located in the heart of the Marais which allowed us easy access to all the activities we were interested in while in Paris. We will plan to return soon.
The Marais Retreat was a perfect home base for us during our stay in Paris. Thankfully it is air-conditioned as Paris was experiencing a heat wave while we were there. The Marais neighborhood had so many shopping and dining options just steps from the apartment. The layout of the apartment and the amenities were wonderful. The area is bustling but the windows do block out a lot of noise at night. We would recommend this place and Haven In!
Fabulous apartment (great kitchen, comfy beds, spacious and stylish ...) and fabulous location! Greeters Thomas and Natalie were warm and welcoming and had wonderful suggestions on restaurants, markets, etc Le Marais is a special neighborhood and we loved being so close to Rue de Rosiers and and all the fabulous boutiques and more! Staying in this apartment added a great deal of joy and sense of living the Parisian lifestyle to our vacation! There is a little bit of noise on the weekend nights only but the windows are solid and we were not bothered by it. We can’t wait to return and will call upon Haven In again!
We had a great time in Paris! The Marias Retreat apartment was a wonderful and couldn't have been in a better location. Beth (our greeter) could not have been nicer or more helpful and we especially enjoyed the thoughtful touches like the stocked pantry that served to make the apartment truly feel like our home away from home. We will definitely use Haven In again in the future.
The Marais apartment was better than advertised. The location is perfect: smack dab in the center of the Marais. We are a family of four (two teenage sons ages 15 and 17). The boys enjoyed the easy access to all the hip Paris fashion. We liked the proximity to the #1 line and walking distance to the Cite de Paris. The apartment is just the right size, very well put together and decorated. During the day, with the windows open, you hear the sounds of Paris all around you. at night, the neighborhood quiets down so no problem sleeping.

The Marais Retreat apartment really exceeded our expectations for our stay in Paris. We stay in HavenIn apartments every year now in Paris and this one is one of the best we've stayed in. Great location right in the heart of the Marais and so comfortable! Everything really has been thought of in this beautiful home away from home. Ali greeted us and was terrific!
We had a great trip. The apartment looked great on site but was actually even nicer in person. Extremely clean, great modern design, comfortable, lovely linens, and amazing location. A little street noise in main bedroom on weekend but windows well insulated. Ali - our contact was so gracious, helpful and accommodating. We had fresh gorgeous flowers and wine and water waiting for us.Most apartments you rent are half as nice as the pictures - this one was actually nicer! Was so glad I booked through HIP. I would do so again!
I can't imagine a better stay than this one, all was perfect! The apartment was exactly like the pictures and the host explained all to us very well and even recommended a restaurant that we end it up going and it was excellent. Marc Waters the driver was also great! For sure I will consider staying with you again. Thank you for everything.
We've had an amazing week in Paris! The apartment is perfect and in such a great location. We loved living like locals and getting to know the neighborhood. Wonderful shops, so many restaurants, and great people watching! What a fabulous way to experience this beautiful city! Cheers.
I travel to Paris each year with the objective of experiencing life as a Parisian. As such, I spend a fair amount of time in the apartment I choose each year. I cook, work, do laundry, etc. just as I would if I were home. Having become quite familiar with Paris I am very picky about the apartment décor (I want something that feels like Paris, not like something I could rent in Amsterdam or New York.) And, I want to live on very specific streets. This is the ONLY apartment I have ever rented that met both these requirements and I would rent again. The Marais Retreat has a very comfortable, open layout. It looks just like the photographs in person! The bed is comfortable and the bedroom has blackout shades. The modern bathroom and kitchen make for a comfortable stay. The only drawback (which in my mind is outweighed by the location) is that it is on the 1st floor (2nd American) and the street noise at night can be heard. I solved the problem with earplugs because I loved being able to literally walk out the door into the happening, lively Marais.
We had a fantastic stay in le Marais! Such a great location! We walked everywhere -- the best way to see Paris. L'as du Falafel around the corner (on rue des Rosiers) is a good spot for a quick and delicious meal. Hope it's not too long until we visit Paris again.
We had an incredibly memorable week at the the Marais Retreat. The apartment felt like home, unlike many sterile corporate rentals, and was perfect for our family of four. The loft character and the view on the 17th century hotel particular across the street made the apartment feel "très" unique. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The air conditioning was also very appreciated since there was a heat wave during our stay. The neighborhood was wonderful, and the entire trip was an experience our kids will never forget. Thanks again and we will recommend the apartment to our friends!
This is a spectacular apartment with high ceilings, lots of light, and great decor. It is modern, clean, and very comfortable. The air-conditioning was a welcome luxury in the summer heat. And, the location is absolutely unbeatable -- right in the midst of Le Marais and all its shops and restaurants and an easy walk to Centre Pompidou, Notre Dame and a number of Metro stations. It is hard to imagine a better homebase for a stay in Paris.
We stayed here for 2 weeks & it is one of the best locations in Paris. This apartment is excellent & we will try it again.
The lovely notebook you have left for us to leave feedback is indicative of the care put into the Marais Retreat. Our week long stay here was just perfect. The retreat, the location, our greeter, Florence - all perfect. Thank you for a wonderful time! This is my 3rd stay with Haven in Paris and it is the best!
I come to Paris annually and this flat is one of my favorites in the city. The quality of the finishes make it obvious this apartment is someone's second home, not just a rental flat. It is immaculately clean and beautifully designed, with very cool decor and some of the coolest lighting I've seen in a private home. The location was absolutely ideal (you could not be more in the heart of the Marais), within walking distance to nearly everything I wanted to do during my stay. The flat is also within five minutes walking distance of two Metro stops, Hôtel de Ville and Saint Paul. I shop for food mainly in fresh markets when I'm in Paris, and it was great to have the Saint Paul marchés just around the corner. As close to it is to everything, the double-glazed windows in the apartment make it very quiet. The apartment's high ceilings and open kitchen give it the feel of a loft. The bed is extremely comfortable--one of the best I have ever slept in away from home! The wifi was super fast and having an AppleTV with full connectivity made my few evenings at home very relaxing. The bathroom is large with both an Italian shower and separate bathtub and washer/dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and even has a Nespresso machine and a wine cooler! Very highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place in Paris!
