About
This Space

Tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac, steps from the center of Avignon and the famous Palais des Papes, sits this darling studio. A lovely, old wisteria plant will welcome you as you enter the 16th century stone building. The peace and quiet of this charming apartment, overlooking a planted courtyard, will be welcome after a full day of exploring Avignon's rich history or touring the gorgeous Provençale countryside. Located in the same building as our Artist Avignon Retreat - a four bedroom apartment - the two properties can be rented together to accommodate a total of 10 guests.

Settle right in to your Avignon vacation rental, lovingly renovated by its owners with a perfect blend of modern comforts, contemporary art and furniture, and classic Provençale charm. From the exposed roof beams to the vaulted stone walls dating from the 16th century, you will be immersed in authentic French living. The fully equipped kitchen with a table for two includes a dishwasher for your convenience.

The airy, open space includes a king-sized bed, deep, comfortable loveseat, and stylish armchair; all inviting options for relaxing after a day of exploration and adventure. A large, walk-in rainshower, towel warmer, stone sink, and floor-to-ceiling ceramic tiles make the modern bathroom a soothing space to start your day. In addition, a washing machine, television, cable TV, Wifi, and high-quality linens and towels help to ensure a relaxing and convenient holiday experience.

Keeping with the theme of the spirit of Avignon, the decor of this darling studio respects the artistic and architectural spirit of this historic city, immersing you in the beauty of this celebrated region of France. Known as a center for art and culture, Avignon is a vibrant city that comes alive through its museums, galleries and many festivals. The annual Avignon Festival in July is an incredible time to be in the city as it buzzes with theatrical performances. There is also a summer Jazz festival and the traditional Christmas market in December. The lively markets and local shops provide an opportunity to delve right into French culture and living all year round.

The most beautiful villages of Luberon, Côtes du Rhône, and les Bouches de Rhône, are all located within easy driving distance. Discover France's largest antique market in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, an adorable little town located along the beautiful Sorgue river. Other points of interest include Orange and its historic Roman theater built in the 1st century; les Baux-de-Provence – one of the most beautiful villages in France; Saint Remy-de-Provence and its amazing street markets; Carpentras, home to one of the oldes Synagogues in France; the corridas (running of the bulls) of Nîmes and Arles; and the Pont-du-Gard aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Adventure farther South to explore the calanques of Cassis and the beaches of Grau-du-Roi, or head to the mountains for skiing on the adorable slopes of Mont-Ventoux or the Alps de Haut Provence. Wine lovers won't want to miss the côteaux of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, St Joseph, Gigondas, and all of the many Cotes du Rhone and Provençale vintages. Foodies will love wandering through the truffle market in Richerenches and buying the famous delicacies. Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, and Montpelier make excellent day trips for culture, food, and sightseeing. For outdoor enthusiasts, excellent hiking abounds in the Parc Natural Regional de Luberon and throughout the small villages and countryside. Bikers will also adore winding throughout this gorgeous countryside dotted with lavender, fruit and olive trees. More outdoor adventures can be found just a bit further away in the Parcs Natural Regional du Verdon, Vercors, Camargue, and Mercantour.
