About
This Space

This exceptional 310m²/ 3336ft² 3 bedroom luxury designer loft is a haven of style and comfort: the perfect Paris vacation escape. Every desire has been anticipated in order for you to enjoy a holiday of leisure and pampering. This 3 Bedroom/3 Bath apartment with private balcony is situated on a quiet, pedestrian cobblestone street in Paris' hip Montorgueil neighborhood.

The luxury designer loft offers a central location from which to explore Paris yet also complete privacy and tranquility, as it overlooks a quiet courtyard. The apartment was recently converted from an 18th century printing house (the French Resistance famously printed their journals here during the war) to a high-end Paris vacation apartment rental. Now renovated as a state of the art luxury residence, the loft offers an experience of superior quality and comfort, with a wide range of concierge and à la carte services available (please inquire) to enable you to have the most relaxing holiday possible. The UK Guardian-Observer named this flat one of the "10 Best European City Apartments" in April 2010.

The luxury designer loft is a huge space divided over three levels.

Main level:
The main level is about 160m2 and has 8.2 meter/27 foot high ceilings. There is a large living area with a home cinema, composed of a 3 meter/18 foot projection screen and Dolby surround sound stereo, HiFi, a DVD player, and a full range of premium cable channels.

A fully equipped chef's kitchen and dining area overlook the spacious living room. The state of the art kitchen has everything you will need for gourmet cooking and entertaining. The kitchen features a sub-zero full sized fridge and freezer, oven, stove with 4 gas burners, dishwasher, blender, steamer, food processor, espresso machine, filter coffee maker, all utensils, etc.

There will be fresh flowers and a fully stocked kitchen upon your arrival, with bottled water, fresh-squeezed orange juice, fresh fruits, milk, butter, champagne, oils, vinegars, spices, teas, coffee, cookies, and more.

Bedroom 1: Main level – This bedroom features a queen bed and independent bathroom with a huge walk in shower, double limestone sink, wood floors, and a toilet.

Laundry facility: There is a washer/dryer combination for your use. The maid will also be happy to wash and iron your clothes (for a fee) during your stay in the apartment.

Level 2:
Master Bedroom: This luxurious room has a queen bed with access to the balcony.
The en suite bathroom has an oversized tub, rain shower, and toilet.

Bedroom 3: This cozy bedroom has a couch that opens into a comfortable queen bed, a desk and access to the balcony. When not in use, the room doubles as a perfect study/ office.

The wraparound mezzanine overlooks the main room of the loft. There is a second flat screen TV in the lounge with premium cable channels and a DVD player. There is free unlimited WiFi high speed internet access in the apartment and a printer/scanner/fax for your use during your stay.

All 3 bedrooms are air-conditioned!

Gym/Spa/Sauna

There is an integrated gym and relaxation room equipped with a sauna, hydro-jet massage shower, elliptical trainer, multi-gym machine, free weights, yoga mats and massage bed. We can arrange for a private massage, or yoga classes with a personal fitness trainer. (Please do ask in advance if you would like to take advantage of these services so we have time to arrange them for you.)

Maid service is supplied weekly, but is also available on a daily basis (at an extra cost).

The luxury designer loft may also be rented for corporate seminars, business meetings, art openings, fashion shows, power point conferences, educational workshops, wine tastings, cooking classes, weddings, private parties, and more. Its large open space, enormous movie screen, and tranquil atmosphere lend itself perfectly to all kinds of functions. Please inquire about rates and availability.

For clients who would like personalized help with reservations or itineraries, our complimentary concierge, Frédéric Corneille, is available. Frédéric is a veritable encyclopedia of Paris information and has accumulated countless contacts at all the best as well as lesser known addresses in Paris. He is available from the moment booking is confirmed to assist with any information or plans prior to your arrival. Upon your arrival in Paris, Frédéric will visit the loft at your convenience to provide you with information packs, tickets or to answer any questions you might have. He is entirely at your disposal during your stay to enhance the enjoyment of your trip and ensure that you are well taken care of!

Montorgueil, the 'quartier' where this luxury 3 bedroom apartment is located, is a trendy area known for high end fashion shops, hip restaurants and cafes, and many wholesale clothing boutiques, attracting the world of fashion and 'la mode.'

The nearby cobblestone streets are filled with many wonderful restaurants, cafes and fresh food markets. The loft is less than a 10-minute walk from the Louvre Museum, the Georges Pompidou Centre, the Marais and the Seine river. Several metro stations are located nearby: Etienne Marcel; Reaumur-Sebastopol and Sentier.

Montorgueil is an eclectic neighbourhood where you will mingle with Paris fashion designers, models, artists, gay couples, a hip trendy international crowd, French yuppies, and of course... French families.

In the neighborhood:

Rue Etienne Marcel and Place des Victoires are very elegant shopping areas just a quick walk from the loft. Here you’ll find many prestigious designers and exclusive stores such as Kabuki, Barbara Bui, Marithé & François Girbaud, Vivienne Westwood, and many more. Some of Paris's best restaurants, spas and fresh produce markets are located in this area. Some of the owner's and Haven in Paris favorites include: Chez Georges, L'Escargot, La Table Ronde, Rocher de Cancale (where Balzac and Moliere used to dine), Le Pain Quotidien, Le Grand Colbert, Baan Boran, Spicy, Nuxe Spa, Debauve and Gallais chocolates, Les Bains du Marais and Patisserie Stohrer (one of Paris's most famous patisseries, visited by the Queen of England during her last visit to Paris). Despite its proximity to so many popular tourist circuits, Quartier Montorgueil remains an incredibly calm, slightly off-the-beaten-path neighborhood.

The Quartier Montorgueil (2nd arrondissement) is centrally located, being about a 10 minute walk from:

1. The Marais: home to the Georges Pompidou Centre, the Picasso Museum, and the Carnavalet Museum, In addition to culture, the Marais features wonderful shopping on Rue Des Francs-Bourgeois and a variety of eclectic designer boutiques on Rue Veille du Temple.
2. The Rue de Rivoli (another great shopping area), Palais Royal and the Louvre Museum.

It is also only a couple of metro stops - or a 20 to 25 minute walk – away from:,

1. Notre-Dame Cathedral: recently renovated, restoring its former architectural glory
2. Ile St. Louis: famous for its narrow cobbled streets and typical 17th century architecture. Its residential ambiance makes for an ideal stroll . 'Glaces Berthillon' is a favoured stop-over for a thirst-quenching home-made sorbet or deliciously rich ice cream.
3. St. Germain des Pres: - renowned for its designer shopping and chic, history-etched bistros, such as Cafe De Flore or Les Deux Magots. Browse nearby Rue Jacob, Rue du Bac or take in the well-selected offerings at the famous Bon Marché department store.

About
The Area

Rue Montorgueil is the oldest market street in Paris. Today, the pedestrian road is still home to several of the city’s oldest stores as well as a crop of newly opened boutiques, creating an exciting mix of nostalgic and contemporary. At all hours of the day, locals fill the numerous sunny terraces and run their daily errands, stopping to chat with friendly shop owners. Strohrer is Paris’ oldest pastry shop (with some of the best éclairs in the city) and across the street you’ll find Paris’ oldest chocolate and candy shop, A la Mère de Famille. Au Rocher de Cancale is another historic address, serving fresh oysters hauled in from the Brittany coast. If you can’t snag a reservation at Gregory Marchand’s Michelin-starred Frenchie, try the nearby Frenchie Bar à Vins or famed Frenchie To Go on the narrow and charming rue du Nil, just uphill of rue Montorgueil. The neighborhood is any chef’s paradise, with stores like G. Detou, E. Dehillerin, and MORA, which sell various hard-to-find cooking ingredients and equipment. For nightlife, rue St-Saveur, a tiny cobblestone alley off of rue Montorgueil, is lined with some of the city’s trendiest cocktail bars. Staying in this area puts you a stone’s throw from Les Halles shopping center and its weekday farmer’s market, the Église St-Eustache, Palais Royal, the Louvre, the Pompidou center, and the Marais.

This is the best of our three wonderful experiences with HIP. HIP always gives you what you see online, and more. The loft was fantastic, huge, comfortable, designed with tremendous detail and felt like the most secluded but largest place in all of Paris. Julie, the owner was great and you could see her heart in all the details from lighting to furnishings, including everything in the kitchen. It was hard to leave the loft to leave and some days we didn't. The neighborhood is terrific, full of life, markets, restaurants.... and very close to the Centre Pompidou and the Louvre. I hope we can stay there anytime we go to Paris. Beds comfortable, bathrooms well appointed. At one point we were 6 adults and 3 children and we had tons of room for all.

We had an absolutely magical Paris vacation. From the moment I contacted Haven in Paris, they were very responsive and the picture of professionalism. The reservation process was a breeze. The property itself far exceeded our expectations!! The greeter was prompt, thorough and delightful. He introduced us to the property and the neighborhood, and he thoroughly answered all of our questions. The property was impeccably decorated and clean. And, there was even fresh fruit and champagne awaiting us upon our arrival. In addition, the owner provided a list of recommended restaurants and shops nearby. The Luxury Designer Loft is located just two blocks from a very active street in Paris, which we LOVED. We were able to enjoy quiet and tranquility each day in the property. But, when we wanted to go out to dinner or go shopping, there were many options very nearby. Each day, we explored new shops. We shopped for fresh pastries and fruit each day. And, each restaurant that we went to was outstanding!! In addition, the owner of the property was absolutely delightful and exceeded all of our expectations! In fact, she turned out to be a life-saver. Our youngest daughter became ill and spiked a fever about two days into our stay. The owner arranged for us to see a nearby doctor who spoke English. And, within a very short time, our daughter was seen by the doctor and we got her prescription. Had she gone untreated, her illness could have put a major damper on our vacation. But, because we were able to get her to the doctor quickly and secure medicine quickly, she was feeling better the very next day. The value of having a concierge service for planning and for the unexpected is absolutely priceless.

This was not the first time we used Haven in Paris and it will most certainly not be the last. Our children raved about Designer Loft. If we return with one of our families (children and grandchildren) and need so many bedrooms we would try once again to rent it.

Overall it was a wonderful visit. We have stayed previously in the Latin Quarter, Montparnasse and Faubourg-St Honore. Very different feel to Montorgueil. We loved it. Charles loves to shop and cook, the children liked to ride their scooters in a pedestrian cobble-stoned neighborhood. We loved walking around... Seine, Ile de la Cite, The Louvre, Luxemboug Gardens... everything was walkable. The flat was beautiful.

We were two couples who spent a week in Paris. The greeter for the apartment was gracious and enormously helpful in orienting us to the apartment and the neighborhood, as well as recommending restaurants and places to shop locally. She also made herself available during the week when we needed anything. The apartment was on a quiet street though within two blocks there was a busy (and great) area to buy local food and find great restaurants. There were three Metro stops nearby and the location was also an easy walk to many attractions on the Right Bank. Luxury is indeed a good description for this apartment. It was lovely, comfortable and had all the necessary equipment (and beyond!). If Paris was not such a draw - we could have spent many happy hours just in the apartment.

We were in Paris over New Years and had to extend our stay- The home we were in was not available for the extension, so we contacted Haven and they immediately went to work to find us a place. They sent a list of names and we chose the LuxuryDesignerLoft. We are so glad we did. The place is fashionably decorated. It had a modern but very "homey" feel. The owners are absolute professionals, they followed up with us throughout the stay to make sure everything was in order. Everything about the home was great. Hot water, water pressure, heat temperature etc. The place was recently renovated so it had many things that did not looked used at all. I would recommend the LuxuryDesignerLoft without hesitation. If you want a modern, hip, usuable space, This is your place.

The week we visited Paris the weather was cold and grey. But the Luxury Designer Loft made our stay warm and sunny. The space is oustanding, providing a comforting, relaxing and fun home environment. The apartment perfectly met the needs of our family (with kids). The locale is very much a non-tourist area but is conveniently located in the center of Paris. Only a block-and-a-half away is a remarkable market street with most wonderful places to buy baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and fish for cooking, as well as innumerable cafes, restaurants, chocolate shops and other conveniences. The owner lives nearby and was a helpful resource for all things Paris. Meanwhile, Haven-in-Paris was attentive from start to finish and made the process very easy.

The Designer Luxury Loft was everything we expected and more! It accommodated five adults very comfortably. The amenities were top notch! The apartment is decorated in ultra modern style and is full of light and feels very open and airy. There is lots of space to lounge around. The kitchen came with lots of amenities and included an espresso maker with coffee capsules. There was also an electric tea kettle and Julie was quick to provide me with a tea pot to make my loose leaf tea. All the bedrooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were amazing. The only drawback was that the two upstairs bedrooms have to share a shower as there is only a one full bathroom and a half bathroom upstairs. Of course, there is an extra shower in the gym area downstairs but one would have to walk down two flights of stairs to get to it. We especially enjoyed watching the French Open tennis on the large screen, especially on the days we didn't have tickets for the matches. The Metro is very convenient to the apartment with three stations within easy walking distance. The nearby street Rue Montorguiel was full of cafes, patisseries and boulangeris stocked with the freshest and tastiest stuff! Thanks, Haven in Paris for our little 'heaven in Paris'!

Deirdre Murphy August, 2010 Dublin, Ireland

This was without doubt the best holiday accomodation we have experienced to date. Despite the outstanding location and the attractions of Paris our enjoyment of the accomodation itself was one of the highlights of the holiday. Well equipped, stylish, beautifully maintained, space, light and breathtaking design easily matching the images on the website and yet extremely comfortable and felt like home. We would return without hesitation although it would be great if there was availability for long weekend breaks.

I have been to Paris many times but for this trip, was traveling with my 75 year old mother who has never been. This was a very special trip that I had anticipated for over a decade. 2 weeks prior to our stay, HiP called to say that the apartment adjacent to the one we rented was under construction and that they suggested we move. I have rarely experienced the kind of service I then experienced with HiP. The staff worked night and day to find us an alternative. Because HiP had no other apartments available in our category, they toured properties from other agencies personally and reported back to me. They spoke with me many times about our specific needs to make sure that where we ended up would be right for us. They were professional and easy to deal with and worked very hard to ensure we would be happy. We did end up in an HiP apartment. I must say that I am a particular traveler and enjoy staying in high end hotels. It is tough for me to find an apartment rental that meets my expectations. The apartment we rented far exceeded my expectations in almost every way. As a side note, I have several friends who live in Paris and they too were impressed when they saw the apartment we rented. I cannot recommend HiP highly enough and look forward to my future stays at their properties.

Deborah W. July, 2008 San Francisco, U.S.

Thank you for a wonderful time at the loft. The space is beautiful - warm, comfortable and fabulously designed at the same time! We had a wonderful stay in Paris and the Quartier Montorgueil is now my favorite Paris neighborhood! I hope to be back again!

Lynn July, 2008 Austin, TX, USA

We have had a very very lovely stay. The loft is great, we are spoiled. We hope to be here again soon and wish you all the best for your hospitality and courtesy.

Brian, Travis and Darren June, 2008 U.S.

Absolutely Fab! The space is warm and inviting. Everything was perfect and loved every minute spent here! We couldn’t wait to get back from the tradeshow to relax in such a gorgeous space. Thanks again for all. We will definitely be back. All the best.

Brian T.G. June, 2008 U.S.

Everything was perfect and “as advertised.” What a great location as it was easily accessible by Metro. The apartment was phenomenal and Julie was an absolute delight. She gave us a quick tour and explanation of the flat and off she went. It was nice to know she was nearby in case there were any issues. I plan to rent this particular flat whenever we find ourselves in Paris in the near future. Thanks again for a great rental.

Kym & Tonya May, 2008 Perth, Australia

Coming from Perth, Australia, our goal was to live like a local Parisian! And that’s what we certainly did. We love the space, which is why we booked the Loft House. What a joy it was and perfectly located! Rue Montorgueil was a delight – I think it is my favourite street in Paris. Vive la France!

K.N. March, 2008 Belgium

We had the pleasure of staying at the wonderful loft in the quartier Montorgueil this weekend. We had a lovely stay. It is a Great loft, in the heart of Paris. We have to compliment you on the great job you have done on the restyling of the loft, it is truly a great place to stay in a very nice neighbourhood. Everything was perfect. Our contact person, Julie, was very kind and a great help to us.

Luis T. November, 2007 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

What a fantastic time we had in Paris, mainly of course because of the Loft! Thanks for everything!

Andrea, Andrew October, 2007 Sydney, Australia

World Cup Rugby – alas the wallabies were nowhere to be seen – but loved our stay in your loft and also the area! Thanks for answering our many questions and being so friendly and helpful. We loved our stay – although too many croissants, crèpes, wine and far too much bread!

Tim, Bob, Aaron, Tom September, 2007 U.S.

We are in love with Paris and your loft. We started each day with fresh croissants from ‘Paul’ and ‘Stoher’. Unbelievable. Near the end of the street we met René, our new favourite Bulldog, who lives with his owner opposite the store called ‘Idea’. Thank you.

A. Family January, 2007 Australia

Our stay in Paris has been remarkable! The location of the loft, so close to Montorgueil, to Le Marais and to the Louvre – gave us easy access to what felt like the whole of central Paris. The comforts of the beautifully designed property made the whole trip a complete delight. We are coming back!!!

G.& F.P. December, 2006 Antwerp, Belgium

Thank you very much!!! We were so happy to have a wonderful place to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday with all our family and kids. It’s wonderful! You did a great job! We loved the decoration and architecture. Very much like home. Very cosy. Very warm. Very nice. Hope to see you again soon!

J.& J.I. November, 2006 New York, U.S.

Our trip to Paris was a celebration of our recent marriage – and what better place could we have stayed than your beautiful loft. Your attention to detail and your warm open arms made us feel at home instantly. Besides the sumptuous accommodation, the loft is ideally located near the most desirable shops, sights, metro and restaurants. We had a lot of fun exploring the nearby streets and neighborhoods of Paris. Thank you very much and our very best to you – until next time!

BC August, 2006 B.C., Canada

Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and fun. The apartment was so great and cozy – it felt just like home. We had so much fun in Paris and especially in the Quartier Montorgueil that we loved so much! The loft topped off our stay and we look forward to coming back another time!

H. & A.D. June, 2006 Australia

Thank you for ensuring that our stay was so magnificent. The apartment was beautiful, warm and comfortable with all the amenities we could have wished for. Your hospitality and helpfulness went well beyond the call of duty and was greatly appreciated. We love the loft and wish you luck with your future ventures!

C.A.R. June, 2006 Charleston, U.S.

Two weeks was simply not enough! It went by far too fast. But this wonderful space made all the difference after a long day – just the tranquility and beauty made me feel refreshed after hours of walking all over town. We had the best time and the boys were in heaven. What you’ve done here is really incredible and lived up to all my expectations – and beyond. Many thanks for your hospitality and generous help.

A.S. November, 2005 U.S.

Couldn’t think of a better Thanksgiving in recent memory! Loved the space and felt right at home. Looking forward to a return visit.

C.L. January, 2005 Australia

We enjoyed our 3 week stay at the loft for Christmas and New Years. The space is great and the kitchen and living room work really well for 5-6 people. The loft is located in such an interesting, undiscovered area, which adds to the pleasure of staying here. Montorgueil is just lovely – especially at Christmas! All in all a great holiday.
