About
This Space

This renovated duplex features a ground-floor salon that opens to a private patio and a shared garden—a rare opportunity in the heart of Paris. The spacious living room and garden face an enchanting 15th-century Hôtel Particulier, offering a stunning contrast to the apartment's modern brick building.

Appointed with custom-made wallpaper in several rooms and original photography by local Parisian talents, the space transports guests to a chic and contemporary retreat.

The large American-style kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances needed to prepare anything from simple meals to multi-course feasts. From the kitchen island, you can enjoy a view of the dining and living lounge, complete with a Samsung Frame television. This spacious area faces the garden, inviting you to enjoy your morning coffee and pastries or an evening apéro. Cross ventilation on this level provides welcome relief during hot summer days, and a guest WC is conveniently located near the entrance.

A beautifully designed central spiral staircase leads to the second level, which comprises three peaceful bedrooms, each equipped with volets or blackout curtains for optimal sleep conditions.

The master bedroom offers a queen-size bed and benefits from ample east-facing light, overlooking the building's central courtyard and a small garden filled with hydrangeas and camellias. The smaller bedroom features a single bed and plenty of storage space. Both of these bedrooms are equipped with a central air conditioning unit that cools the entire upper floor. The middle bedroom includes a small antique desk and a designer-quality sofa bed, making it versatile as either a bedroom for two or a private office.

Both upper-level bathrooms are modern, with convenient storage and customizable lighting options. The main bathroom offers a contemporary shower, double sinks, and a towel warmer, while the adjacent guest bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink, and an American-style Miele washer and dryer. A separate WC is located at the top of the stairs.

Furnished with Italian and American designer brands, the space is further enhanced with art and decorative elements from Morocco, France, the Netherlands, and the UK. In the spring, wisteria blooms envelop both sides of the apartment.

The location of our Marais Thorigny Garden apartment is one of the best in the Marais—just steps away from the world-famous Musée Picasso, and within walking distance of Place des Vosges, rue des Rosiers, Square du Temple, and the gourmet shopping haven of rue de Bretagne and the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the oldest covered market in Paris!

About
The Area

Covering Paris’ central 3rd and 4th arrondissements, the Marais is the oldest neighborhood in the city, where medieval roads and architecture now contain designer boutiques, intimate museums, hip cafés, and hidden gardens. Just down the street from the Hôtel de Ville city hall, the Pompidou museum exhibits a wonderful range of modern art on four, expansive floors. In the center of the Marais, thanks to its historic Jewish heritage, you’ll find take-away and sit-down falafel restaurants and delis aplenty, including the world-famous L’As du Falafel, the newer Miznon, and ever-popular Sacha Finkelsztajn deli. Pick up a sweet treat from Pierre Hermé, Café Pouchkine, or L’Éclair de Génie and enjoy it in the calm sunshine of Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris, or escape the crowds at the hidden Rosiers-Joseph Migneret garden. History buffs will appreciate the Musée Carnavalet, a history museum dedicated to the city of Paris, as well as the fascinating Musée des Archives, both troves of rare documents and artifacts. The recently renovated Picasso museum and the hunting museum, Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, are fantastic options as well. Head towards metro St-Paul to rummage through the most unique antique and vintage shops in the area. Much of the Marais’ popular and varied nightlife scene caters to Paris’ gay population, but there is undoubtedly something to please everyone. The North Marais, toward Place de la République, is where you’ll find the delicious marché des Enfants Rouge and nearby cultural event center, Carreau du Temple, surrounded by a number of Paris’ trendiest cafés and clandestine cocktail bars.
