About
This Space
The Paris Bastille apartment is a perfect haven for visitors seeking an authentic Paris neighborhood, away from the tourists, yet still conveniently located and complete with modern comforts. Nearby neighborhood highlights include the impressive “Promenade Plantée,” also known as the “Coulée Vert” - a five-kilometer stretch of verdant park space that runs above the Viaduc des Arts, which is also home to cafés and shops below; the indoor/outdoor Marché d’Aligre - one of Paris’ best markets; the exquisitely ornate “Le Train Bleu” restaurant inside the Gare de Lyon; the colorful Rue Cremieux; and of course, Place de la Bastille, the Seine River, the trendy Marais neighborhood, Île St Louis, and Jardin des Plantes are all an easy walk away.
An elevator to the 6th floor (7th American) brings you to this fully remodeled, professionally decorated, and very quiet one-bedroom, one-bathroom. Natural light pours through the floor-to-ceiling French windows, which open onto the long balcony with a table and seating for two, and from where guests will enjoy lovely views of Haussmanian-building rooftops and sky. The living room offers comfortable seating, a fireplace, and also a table that can be used for indoor dining. The sofa can be converted into a queen bed for extra guests.
Wood floors flow through the living room and into the bedroom, complete with a queen bed, ample closet space, bedside reading lamps, and more floor-to-ceiling French windows that open to the balcony. A modern bathroom is bright with natural light and has a walk-in shower, sink, and stone tiles; the toilet is in a separate WC with a sink.
The kitchen is brand new and fully-equipped with quartz countertops and a beautifully tiled floor. Of course, there are many great restaurants right nearby, but it might be hard to resist the food shopping at the Marché d’Aligre. Fortunately, the Paris Bastille has everything needed to prepare wonderful home-cooked meals with the delicious finds from the nearby market, including a Lacanche range and oven.
Best of all, a portable AC unit is available for the warmer months. Though you might not want to leave this neighborhood with so much to enjoy and discover nearby, the line 1 metro is close by and will take you to the very center of Paris in just minutes.

About
The Area
The historical Place de Bastille, once the epicenter of the French Revolution, is now home to the Opéra Bastille, cafés, markets, and more. To its west lies the trendy and popular Marais neighborhood. To its east, a true Parisian neighborhood with the Marché d'Aligre (one of the best markets in the city); the Gare de Lyon that houses an exquisitely ornate restaurant, "Le Train Bleu," and connects Paris to southern France and beyond; and the Viaduc des Arts, a rehabilitated elevated railway with the verdant Promenade Plantée / Coulée Verte above, and cafés and shops below. The Canal St Martin runs in between, and the Seine right below.
