About
This Space

This tastefully renovated one-bedroom Paris apartment adjacent to Places des Vosges is perfectly situated in the heart of the trendy and gay-friendly Marais district. Located on the third floor of an art deco building (with elevator), your boutique rental property is close to many of the Marais’ famed cafés, restaurants, boutiques, and museums. With large double windows, the apartment benefits from the afternoon sun and partial views of the Place des Vosges and its incomparable 17th century red brick buildings.

A clever Parisian architect skillfully renovated the apartment to maximize space and comfort. The apartment has been furnished and decorated with a mixture of European and Asian antiques and contemporary pieces of high quality, acquired exclusively from shops and galleries in the neighborhood. The main living space includes a sitting room with sofa, chairs, and two large, beautiful windows looking onto this historic Marais neighborhood. An open kitchen and dining area, elegantly outfitted with a granite countertop, are fully equipped and even include a gas stove ideal for cooking.

The petite bedroom has a queen-sized bed and small window onto a courtyard, making this a cozy and quiet sleeping area. The sofa in the living room also converts into a double bed to accommodate additional guests. The full, modern bathroom is inviting with a large, walk-in shower.

The Place des Vosges property is the ideal apartment rental for a stylish, but unpretentious Paris home base. The Marais is a wonderful historic neighborhood known for its architecture, hip shops and galleries, restaurants, gay and Jewish population, and central location. You are surrounded by famous hôtels particuliers and within a stone’s throw from some of Paris' best museums: Maison Victor Hugo, Musée Picasso, Musée Carnavalet, and Centre Pompidou. You can also walk to Rue des Rosiers’ famous falafel shops, Seine River, Ile St-Louis, Notre Dame Cathedral, Left Bank, and so much more.

About
The Area

Covering Paris’ central 3rd and 4th arrondissements, the Marais is the oldest neighborhood in the city, where medieval roads and architecture now contain designer boutiques, intimate museums, hip cafés, and hidden gardens. Just down the street from the Hôtel de Ville city hall, the Pompidou museum exhibits a wonderful range of modern art on four, expansive floors. In the center of the Marais, thanks to its historic Jewish heritage, you’ll find take-away and sit-down falafel restaurants and delis aplenty, including the world-famous L’As du Falafel, the newer Miznon, and ever-popular Sacha Finkelsztajn deli. Pick up a sweet treat from Pierre Hermé, Café Pouchkine, or L’Éclair de Génie and enjoy it in the calm sunshine of Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris, or escape the crowds at the hidden Rosiers-Joseph Migneret garden. History buffs will appreciate the Musée Carnavalet, a history museum dedicated to the city of Paris, as well as the fascinating Musée des Archives, both troves of rare documents and artifacts. The recently renovated Picasso museum and the hunting museum, Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, are fantastic options as well. Head towards metro St-Paul to rummage through the most unique antique and vintage shops in the area. Much of the Marais’ popular and varied nightlife scene caters to Paris’ gay population, but there is undoubtedly something to please everyone. The North Marais, toward Place de la République, is where you’ll find the delicious marché des Enfants Rouge and nearby cultural event center, Carreau du Temple, surrounded by a number of Paris’ trendiest cafés and clandestine cocktail bars.
