About
This Space
In the heart of Paris a short walking distance from the Louvre, Opéra, Palais Royal, the Galerie Vivienne, and the legendary Faubourg Ste Honore, you will find this spacious, chic, and completely luxurious 108m2/ 1163 SQ FT, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom vacation apartment.
Housed up 2.5 flights of stairs in a classified 18th century, pre-Revolution building, this extraordinary apartment has been fully renovated by its American and French owners and their talented interior designers, the Paris-based ‘double g’. The apartment delivers the comforts and amenities of the best boutique hotels while offering the sophistication, privacy and charm of an authentic Parisian home.
The décor is an eclectic mix of the classics and the contemporary. The striking hardwood floors in the apartment are original 18th century parquet, featuring the classic ‘point de Hongrie’ in the bedrooms, parquet ‘a l’anglaise’ in the entrée, and a more unusual variant of the parquet ‘Versailles’ in the salon.
The apartment surprises and delights from the moment you cross the threshold. The entrée is a warm violet, featuring an elegant ‘light box’, a stunning mid century light fixture, and a delicate Louis Philippe marble table for your keys.
The two bedrooms (both with air conditioning) display an equal splash of color: one is a deep red, with a king sized bed, a large kilim rug, a Florence Knoll marble bench, striking bedside tables from the French modernist period of the 1950s, a Bruno Mathsson teak dresser and a gorgeous Louis Philippe mirror; the second is mint green, with a queen sized bed, a 19th century mahogany mirror, a hunter green Eames chair, and an extraordinary 19th century ebony and mother of pearl inlaid secrétaire. Both rooms have plenty of closet space and top-of-the-line bedding, including goose down duvets and pillows and 800-thread count Egyptian cotton linens. An AeroBed and a crib can be supplied at no extra cost.
The bathrooms have been completely renovated, featuring Parisian elegance, American amenities and comfort, and a Japanese-influenced appreciation for order and space. The first includes a luxurious porcelain double sink, Philippe Starck light fixtures, a full-length towel heater, and a deliciously spacious marble shower with a 10-inch rain shower. The second bathroom is tiled in gorgeous cream squares and includes an equally spacious shower with a 10-inch rain shower, Artemide lighting, a full-length towel heater, and a delicate curtain feature.
The elegant salon is all about light. Exceedingly bright for a Parisian apartment; it faces Southwest and includes five full double windows. The room is designed to be both comfortable and eclectic, featuring a gray linen sofa from Caravane, the notable French design shop, a 1960s burled wood Italian coffee table, a classic Mies van der Rohe chair, and a stately Napoleon III desk that the owners found at a chateau near their summer home in the Lot. Bespoke shelving holds a large collection of art books, a 32” flat screen TV, a state-of-the-art digital music system and iPod deck by Vita Audio, and selected artwork. The shelving includes a sliding panel that covers the television and stereo system when you are entertaining guests; the panel itself features a large photo by the up-and-coming France-born, New York-based photographer Katrina Laval.
The kitchen is a delight. It’s equipped for a simple breakfast for four – and for a dinner party for twelve. Elegant wooden cabinetry, black Zimbabwean stone countertops, and top-of-the-line Miele and Siemens appliances make for a chef’s kitchen that is also a pleasure for entertaining. The black and white tile flooring is reminiscent of the spiral staircase to the apartment, the teak kitchen table and chairs are classic 1950s Danish design, the room is lit by a unique Finn Juhl chandelier, and the walls feature two large original flower prints from Deyrolle, the legendary shop near the Musee d’Orsay on the Left Bank.
Your Parisian home is in the absolute center of the city: the majesty of the Louvre, the grandeur of the Opèra, the elegance of the Place Vendome, the shopping haven of Faubourg Ste Honore, the beauty of the 18th century gardens of the Palais Royal, and the style of the 19th century ‘Passage Couvert’ of the Galerie Vivienne are all within five minutes by foot. The apartment itself is located adjacent to bustling cafés, the lovely 19th Century Square Louvois, the Bibliotheque Nationale (the original National Library of France), and the Rue St. Anne, which is renowned for both its stretch of Japanese restaurants and the 12 ‘Galeries de la Rue Ste Anne’. Many of the true culinary institutions of Paris are within blocks, including Le Grand Vefour, Le Grand Colbert, Chez George, La Fointaine Gaillon and Drouant. The Seine River and the Left Bank are a mere ten minutes by foot and five minutes by bike, the Pompidou is a15 minute stroll, and the Marais is an easy three stops by Metro, which itself is only three blocks from the apartment.
Whether you are visiting Paris for work or for play, the Palais Royal apartment is the perfect flat for the discriminating traveler – a chic, creative, elegant, spacious and ultimately relaxing alternative to the standard luxury hotel.

Reviews
Working with Haven in Paris made planning our trip to Paris easy and most enjoyable. The staff was very prompt about replying to emails and following up prior to and during our stay. We rented a 2 bedroom apartment for eight wonderful days. On a previous visit to Paris, we had stayed in a hotel; this time we really felt that we were living in Paris, not just visiting. The location of the property was excellent and conducive to walking everywhere; in fact, we only took the metro once! We really appreciated the boulangerie next door and the fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, and baguettes were delicious. The apartment itself was exactly as the pictures on the website portrayed it. The kitchen was large and spacious and very well appointed and since we were a family of five, we enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table having a leisurely breakfast before heading off to enjoy the beauty of Paris. Our greeter, Laurence, was very helpful and the driver who took us to the airport, David Partouche of luxetaxi, was wonderful and even carried our heavy suitcases down three flights of stairs, for which my husband will be eternally grateful! Our trip was one which we and our children will always remember and a great deal of our pleasure had to do with the quality and location of the our 'haven in Paris'!
We had a great stay at Palais Royal. We have stayed over the years in many up scale accommodations and this was by far the best experience we have ever had. Cleaning was perfect down to the detergent used to wash the bed linens and towels - everything was fresh and welcoming. Laurence, our greeter, was also helpful and accommodating. The property itself is in excellent condition and very well equipped. We had a small get together with friends and kids and there was space of space for everyone to easily spread out. Having a computer was also a plus for our oldest daughter (for researching paintings prior to museum visits and sneaking in a few minutes on the American Girl website). The location is second to none - right in the heart of everything. We walked everywhere (except to Pére Lachaise...). Being near to all the Japanese restaurants was also great for small sushi dinners after larger lunches at other Paris dining establishments. We have recommended both Haven in Paris and the Palais Royal apartment to all of our friends. We had a lovely, relaxed and stress free holiday and look forward to booking accommodation again with HiP in the near future.
We were very happy with the reservation process, any questions we had before our trip were answered promptly and candidly. The apartment was in a central location, very convenient for visiting the Louvre and the Musee D'Orsay, very accessible to several metro lines. The apartment itself was wonderful! We felt very much at home and enjoyed staying "chez nous" several evenings and eating in.
HI - just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay in the Palais Royal apartment. The apartment is very nice, spacious and comfortable. The beds are especially comfortable. One area of improvement is there could be more lighting. Our greeter was super nice and the cleaner was also very nice as well as thorough. For an apartment of this caliber, I would have expected a more high-end coffee maker and also shampoo in the bathrooms. Aside from that, it was great and we look forward to renting it again.
Thank you. I think you guys are amazing. I have rarely worked with a company as organized, friendly, efficient, and where what you get not only meets, but exceeds your expectations. From the beginning, you helped me find a solution to my needs for the stay in Paris. The apartment was fantastic, and in many ways better than any hotel experience I've had. The Palais Royal flat was literally a perfect apartment for our needs and for the value. Beautifully decorated in a "clean, new, modern aesthetic within charming parisian building" it was meticulous, felt clean with updated technology, a key quality when not staying in a hotel. The greeter was wonderful, and again, almost overly efficient and effective in making every part of the transitional elements go seamlessly well. Serious kudos to Alison Abommes the concierge suggested by Haven in Paris. Could NOT have done the trip without her help. She made some unique work related requests seem easy, and again - seamless. Seemingly simple requests can be challenging in a foreign country, and she worked everything out for us in a timely and effortless way. Cleaning was perfect. Really, no suggestions that would make sense. We had one unique moment, where we momentarily were delayed trying to figure out the correct electrical needs to run 3 sewing machines, but as I mentioned, it was resolved quickly and smoothly by the team. I would, and WILL recommend Haven in Paris with an enthusiastic thumbs up to friends and business colleagues.
Our greeter was prompt, friendly, and quite helpful. We loved the apartment. The main entrance and staircase was like a Parisian shabby chic movie set. The apartment itself has lots of natural light, and the common areas - kitchen with modern appliances, and living room - were comfortable and roomy. The furnishings, artwork, and assortment of books reflected the refined taste of the owners and made us feel right at home. The mattresses on the two queen-sized beds were of the highest standard; and the white linens - clean, pressed, and divinely simple. The two full baths are beautifully renovated with state-of-the-art fixtures in perfect working order. Towels are fluffy, clean, and warm from the towel racks, a nice amenity. The Palais Royal neighborhood was fantastic, walking distance to all central neighborhoods including the bridges and 6th, good metros, right up the street from the Comedie Francaise, Louvre, and Palais Royale. The apartment owners have left some great recommendations for local restaurants and shops. For the record, I came to consider an apartment because I was traveling with my adult son, we needed two separate rooms for the week, and after researching Paris boutique hotels, I found HIP on Girls' Guide to Paris. Most apartments were a better layout than two shoebox rooms and small lobby/common area available at many hotels, and the cost per night was favorably comparable.
Our experience with Haven in Paris exceeded every expectation we had. Having never rented an apartment for vacation we were thrilled with the detailed service and consideration of the staff and greeters. The personal manner in which Haven in Paris worked with us made us feel secure and welcome. They really do think of everything and made our trip so enjoyable. Not only will we use Haven in Paris every time we go to Paris but we will recommend it to all our friends and family.
First of all, we loved the apartment. It was warm, comfortable and in great condition. The level of cleanliness was perfect and having the ability to Skype w/ our family while were away for Thanksgiving was an added bonus. Laurence is a great greeter. She was very prompt and extremely thorough in getting us acquainted w/ the features of the apartment. She made our stay there quite easy. We also loved that we could walk to the Louvre, etc. in less than 10 mins. It's central location was great. The only negative thing we would say is that the noise from the street was louder than we expected. In the apartment description you mention that the street noise (from restaurants, etc.) might "waft" up to the apartment. The traffic noise was far more than "wafting" and would probably be the singular reason for us choosing not to stay in the Palais Royal apartment the next time we come to Paris. We honestly could not imagine staying in the apartment in warm weather b/c if the windows needed to be open at night it would be far too noisy. With that said, though, we will definitely book our next trip to Paris through Haven in Paris. I think you have an extremely high level of service and I've already recommended your company to some friends. NOTE FROM HIP: The area in which this property resides is not generally noisy as it's not on a major thoroughfare but it certainly is active and we appreciate the feedback. The bedrooms do have air conditioning so, in the summer, with the windows closed and the air conditioning running, the noise is far more limited.
The apartment was beautiful, clean and centrally located. The team at HIP were fantastic to deal with and very helpful. I will rent with them again for sure.
This was our 2nd visit at the Palais Royal Apartment. What I love the convenient location to the Louvre, the myriad of great restaurants in the area and how every detail about the apartment was well thought out. Washer and dryer work well and are easy to use. The kitchen is well outfitted. The living room is large comfortable and luminous. We will be back!
All in all, the Palais Royal apartment was great. The greeter was nice. The driver Lauren (works for Andy Waters) was great. We loved it. It is first time we used an apartment instead of a hotel and will do it again. I took a day trip to Beaune in Burgundy that was my highlight of the trip.
Very impressed with how well the Palais Royal apartment has been set up. You have thought of everything! Laurence (our greeter) was so helpful. Very knowledgeable and kind. She waited more than two hours for us when out arrival was delayed. In any case, I thank you for following up and am happy to tell you that we are super pleased. I expected comfort and my expectations have been exceeded.
I had high expectations for the property and they were exceeded. The Palais Royal apartment is an extremely large (for Paris standards), comfortable, serene haven in the heart of Paris. Everything that is necessary for a pleasant stay has been thought of by the Haven in Paris team. There were great linens on the beds and large fluffly towels in the bathrooms. Ample storage space for clothing and personal items. The bathrooms were fantastic and super clean. The kitchen was modern and attractive and so well stocked with all the necessities for cooking and seasoning. Nothing has been overlooked in Rameau. There are books for reading. Movies for viewing, Guidebooks on Paris to consult. It felt like a home. A very chic home but one where you can relax. What a pleasure it was to come home dusty and tired from sightseeing at the end of the day. Laurence our greeter was fantastic and on top of everything. I will never again stay in a hotel in Paris. From now on it is Haven in Paris all the way!
We loved the apartment and the location. I will never stay in a hotel in Paris again as long as Haven is around. the boulangerie downstairs was a great surprise with the smell of fresh croissants every morning and we took croissants and espresso upstairs to the apartment each morning for breakfast. The butcher downstairs was fantastic as was the sushi restaurant across the street. The bathrooms were big, clean and modern and the space was larger than a hotel suite at the Crillon at 1/3 the price. I highly recommend and I am a very picky hotel person. The gym two blocks away was also great.
Yes, we had a wonderful stay in the Palais Royal apartment. We were very pleased with the apartment and with the experience working with HIP in general. This is our first time renting an apartment rather than staying in a hotel, and we much preferred apartment life, especially with a young child. We especially appreciated the bathrooms and kitchen -- everything was so clean and new, and the appliances were top-quality. What a treat! The quality of the apartment exceeded our expectations. When we arrived it was spotless, so I give the cleaner high marks. We really loved it and I've been recommending HIP to everyone I know. My only question is, when are you going to expand your concept to other cities? We're thinking Rome and Barcelona, for starters!
Loved the apartment! Perfectly equipped, luminous, great neighborhood with wonderful restaurants nearby. I went jogging every evening in the Tuileries just 2 minutes from the apartment and discovered Storher Patisserie was the perfect place for takeout when we didn't feel like dining out.
We had a fantastic stay. Although we regret we were not in the apartment that often as we were busy looking at the wonderful city and eating at the local eateries. We would love to have a month there so we could really enjoy it. We have already recommended this place to a number of friends and do hope we will return one day. Laurence (our greeter) was great going through all the matters relating to the flat and it was certainly presented beautifully. Fresh flowers, wine and a pantry with many items were all well received. Thank you again for the wonderful 6 days we had there
We had the best week! We really loved the apartment and it met or exceeded our high expectations in every way. Seriously, I don't think we'll ever opt for a hotel in Paris again if this is an option. Loved it so much. As for any recommendations, we did a Flea Market tour with Didier Paul (who was recommended by Haven in Paris) and it was a great day and he was a delight. In all our visits there, we'd never been to the flea market and it was an adventure and we definitely needed Didier to help us navigate. He charges 250 euros for the day and it was well worth it. Another interesting experience was the Ralph Lauren store and restaurant! There's a new RL store right on the Rue St Germain and the store is magnificent and even has a restaurant called Ralph's which is one of the hottest reservations in Paris these days. My friend Nina the store manager here in Austin hooked us up and we went for lunch and it was fabulous. A french interpretation of American food. And the store is really a sight to see. The opera was another unique experience. The owners of the apartment had left a wonderful notebook filled with restaurant descriptions and suggestions, and we took their advice and everything was great, although I do think its pretty difficult to find a bad meal in that city! I was very surprised the day we went to the Marais -- this had always been one of my favorite sections of the city. Its very commercialized now and a bit of a "scene" and I'm kind of glad we didn't stay there. Next time we do the apartment thing, I think I'd want to stay in the St Germain area or the Ile Ste Louis or Ile de la Cite. And honestly, Brian and I agreed that we'd be happy to stay in the Palais Royal apartment again too. But next time we need to go for 2 weeks!!
This will echo many earlier comments from guests in your home. But a full month really allows one to compare - and we can say very sincerely that this is the most positive experience we have had with staying in homes away from home. The apartment is superbly equipped, and there is nothing we had need for while staying here. But what makes your home so very special are the incredible french films and books that have enriched our stay enormously. We have rented apartments in several other major European cities and in the U.S. and this has been, by far, the best! And thank you for sharing your wonderful collection !
Thank you for a wonderful stay in an exceptional apartment. We could not have been happier with everything. And Laurence (our greeter) could not have been more friendly and helpful. Perfect stay in a beautiful space. We hope to be back soon.
We loved our stay at the Palais Royal apartment! The apartment is gorgeous and comfortable with every amenity we could have asked for. The boulangerie on the ground floor has some of the most amazing bread we found in Paris. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a rental.
Our experience with Haven in Paris exceeded our expectations. The team were very responsive and helpful, and our greeter Laurence made sure she was available to help us with any questions we had. The Palais Royal apartment is a bright, airy apartment, fully renovated and spacious, with a high-end kitchen and bathrooms, and ideally located within walking distance of many attractions, but out of the mayhem of the tourist areas. It is by far the best rental experience we have had, and we have rented in several European cities and in the US. The owners have thought of everything needed to really "live" in Paris, and have also equipped the apartment with remarkable books and films that greatly enriched our month in Paris. We will certainly look to HIP next time we travel to Paris. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much. We loved staying here. The only problem is that the apartment is so wonderful and the collection of books so interesting, that we were tempted to spend all of our time here in the apartment! We appreciated the beauty of all your choices here. Many thanks.
Another wonderful stay at your apartment. Olivia (now 2 years 4 months) does not want to go back to Chicago. I think she has good taste! We look forward to our next stay in your Paris home that we now consider our home away from home.
We had a great stay in your beautiful home and it made us especially comfortable to be so far away from home. The neighborhood is great, every little detail inside (from the coffee to all the pots and pans), to the movie selection to choose from. Our only request is that you add season 3 of the wire.
Wonderful stay - could not have been better. We would happily suggest to friends.
Had a most wonderful time. This centrally located flat is so convenient for all the major tourist locations that we will certainly recommend it to all our friends who may be thinking of visiting Paris in the near future. It is so homely here, especially when you have come to visit from as far away as Singapore. Thank you for making our stay here so wonderful and memorable!
Thank you so much for sharing your home. I was truly a "Haven In Paris" for our whole family. Best wishes to you.
Wonderful visit - what a fabulous apartment and excellent service.
Absolutely brilliant, never more we stay in a hotel in Paris again ! So convenient, so relaxing, so comfortable. See you next year. Thanks.
The representatives of Haven in Paris were thorough, professional and cordial. Our trip was a wonderful combination of enjoying the everyday pleasures as well as the popular attractions of Paris. The property that we rented was beautiful and comfortable in a way that made us feel truly at home. We would return to it anytime and have already recommended it to friends!
This property is magnificent. Every detail is considered and the doors and mouldings are exquisite. Gorgeous decor, the color, the linens, the artwork. Fantastic selection of films and interesting books of all sorts. State of the art kitchen and marble baths with windows. Technologically perfect with high speed internet and lots of cable channels. Incredible neighborhood that isn't normally traversed so it was great to radiate from there and see a completely new area in the very center of the city, the 2nd arrondissement.
You provided us a home away from home which made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Many thanks.
We started late in the game trying to find a flat for two weeks in Paris. The team at Haven in Paris was very helpful in assisting our search and accommodating our needs. The whole process of renting, and feeling secure about our destination was very easy. This particular flat is really lovely, with an unbelievable amount of space in all the rooms. Everything is brand new, chic, and welcoming. You walk in and start thinking, hmmmm, who do I know in Paris? Perfect for entertaining! The only issue: it's a 3 floor walk up with no elevator. Highly recommend it.
My experience at the Palais Royal property was perfect. I can only say positive things about it. Wendy that greeted us and helped us with different things was adorable and super efficient. The flat far exceeded our expectations, it cannot be compared to any hotel and I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Paris. The location is great, especially all the Japanese restaurants next to us. I can go on forever that's why I will be back in October.
Our greater Laurence was very helpful and we had a great time overall. The apartment is very centrally located, spacious, stylish, in immaculate condition, and very bright. There is a fabulous butcher next door, and a boulangerie downstairs made breakfast a breeze. The 3 flights of stairs up to the flat were easily navigated on a daily basis, but are a bit daunting upon arrival with luggage, so arrange for a car service to help upon arrival, and the flat is probably best for families with children over the age of 3.
The Palais Royal apartment is just wonderful, very quiet yet so wonderfully central. We adored the design of this really chic apartment. The fully equipped kitchen makes it an excellent option even if you are traveling with kids and prefer to prepare their meals at home
The apartment was wonderful and so was Wendy (my greeter)!! The apartment was really excellent - extremely well thought out and in superb condition. I will certainly do business with you again. Thank you again for all your assistance.
The property was great. Nicely decorated, great bathrooms, a super kitchen with all the amenities. A central location near all the sites with lots of restaurants, bistros and cafes near by. A wonderful bakery on the ground floor. I would strongly recommend this property – we will be back!
This is a superb location. Simply the best experience I could imagine. We had our two children 8 and 9 years old. It was an excellent upgrade to the traditional hotel experience (which is not friendly to kids in Paris). There is a bakery directly below the window. Pastries in the morning with fresh fruit from the grocery across the way. Amazing. Centrally located. We walked everywhere, and it was easy. Wendy, our greeter, was amazing. Helpful, informative, gracious. What can I say?
