Reviews
We had an extremely fun time here in Paris! The apartment's location is perfect, especially because we used the metro which is so close by. The view is lovely and the restaurants around are delicious! We will be back in the future for sure!
Ahh Paris! Such a beautiful and amazing city, and how better to see it than from the lovely Ecoles apartment. So close to everything and the views- incredible Roman ruins an added bonus. Will be back someday very soon!
We'll never stay in a Paris hotel again! What a luxury to be able to have our own Paris apartment if only for a short while. The Ecoles apartment was perfect for our family of three. Yes, the bedrooms are small but who needs sleep when visiting the City of Light! The kitchen and drawing room area were perfect for relaxing. We even cooked a few simple meals and the kitchen was easy to use. The view off the balcony is beyond words...if you know what to look for you can also see the blue roof of the Pompidou Centre. Don't miss a visit to the Museé Cluny right around the block. It's not huge but very interesting! Our greeter Loredana was fantastic and very friendly! She was waiting for us when we arrived and really showed us all the workings of the apartment. We had a great meal at a small place called Restaurant Itinéraires in ru de Pontoise within walking distance of the apartment. We also enjoyed the Brasserie Balzar right across the street. We had read that almost all the brasseries in Paris are now owned by two companies including this one but the staff was very friendly and the food not bad at all. Great when you are tired after a long day of walking and don't want to think about dinner. HIP must really have clout because all the the service people we used were AMAZING. All were very responsive. We e-mailed Andy Waters first for airport transfer and he very quickly responded that he was not available. We then contacted Victor who took great care of us. We also took a Context tour of Gothic Paris which was amazing! There is a link on the HIP site to their website and there are many from which to choose.
We truly enjoyed staying in the apartment. The views are spectacular, the evening light is pink and lovely. Loredana explained how to operate all the appliances, got us into wifi and was available 24/7 for questions. The apartment is very clean and well stoked with everything we needed. Having a washer and dryer while on vacation is priceless! Next time I will pack 1/2 of what I brought this time!
We had a wonderful time in Paris, and rue Des Ecoles was just perfect for our family. We can definitely see ourselves coming back any time. All worked perfectly for us!
A perfect space for our family of four. The view and light was exceptional, especially with the snow. We could walk and metro ourselves easily through Paris and beyond from here. We stayed cozy and warm - feeling right a home. Thank you!
What a wonderful Christmas holiday we enjoyed! The apartment was splendid; well equipped, comfy... and the view! Centrally located to all the places we walked to and so close to multiple metro lines when we needed them. The cafe downstairs provided a great start for us each day, the staff were quite charming.
HiP HiP Hurrah! We loved the view - Sacre Coeur to Notre Dame (you can't beat it - priceless). The tree trunk supports and curtains to complement! Thank you for your supreme aesthetic to make this apartment perfect.
We had a wonderful return visit to Paris to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. "Les Ecoles" was the perfect, romantic spot to share a glass of wine, fromage and baguette. Our stay in the apartment was fabulous. We loved the neighborhood and views. We truthfully spent at least a few hours just sitting on the balcony with wine and enjoying the spectacular view. We will definitely think of Haven in Paris when planning our next trip. Thanks!
We had an absolutely amazing trip to Paris and "Les Ecoles" made it all the more enjoyable! We will definitely be back. Thank you!
The property is exactly as described online. We found it to be very clean, well equipped, and the view was lovely. The entry area to the building was a bit dingy - could use a little clean up. Our greeter was punctual and very pleasant. He did a fine job. {The tv never worked during our stay and was not fixed as promised.} I would use Haven in Paris again without hesitation. Note from Haven in Paris on the TV: Unfortunately the cable box was broken and as this is August in France we were unable to get them to send it to us quickly despite many many hours on the phone with the cable company.
We loved the Ecoles apartment for these reasons - the location is perfect, the view was wonderful, all the appliances worked, the beds were comfortable, it was a nice mix of contemporary and traditional which felt like home but with the French touch of the parquet flooring, old beams and some very special furniture pieces. The fact that it had windows along one wall and doors/windows across the front ensured light and air all day. It was very clean with modern kitchen and bathroom and plentiful supplies of towels, glasses, cutlery, etc. You could host dinner for the royal court !! In fact we had dinner every evening on the balcony - enjoying the food we bought at Bon Marche and other places. Maps and guide books abound. The location of Ecoles is ideal and we loved the balcony and the view. It was quiet - the general traffic noise was not a bother for sleeping and the street below was always quiet. Looking onto the archaeological dig and not into a building was wonderful. It was great to have a greeter to show us the intricacies of the apartment to ensure we knew how to use the appliances and manage the locking and unlocking of the door. Fresh flowers and a bottle of wine were lovely welcoming touches. If there is a downside to this apartment it would be the small bedrooms which are internal rooms (no windows) - but nevertheless very comfortable with plenty of storage and cupboard space. The upside is the huge living area and outdoor balcony. We had a wonderful stay in Ecoles and would highly recommend it. I really don't think we can suggest any improvements for Ecoles - it was as promised and we were very happy staying there.
We had a great time in Paris and the apartment was Great!
Our stay at Ecoles was wonderful. Our greeter was friendly, helpful, and made himself available to us for questions throughout our stay. The apartment itself was perfectly located and lovely. The kitchen was very well equipped - we like to cook, so that was important. Our view of Notre Dame was pretty spectacular. All in all, a great trip. We would definitely return!
We have finally found a real "Haven in Paris", after 6 visits. We'll be back!
Let me begin by stating that we had a fabulous time in Paris! So much of it is attributed to the attention to detail by Haven in Paris (HIP) and to our wonderful greeters, Loredana, and Roger. Our first few minutes in the apartment with them set the tone for the whole week. Loredana made you feel instantly comfortable in Paris--you knew if you ran into a problem you could call her and she would help you. The apartment is beautiful--just as in the pictures. The location: ideal! The kitchen: wonderful! And, yes, you can really see Notre Dame from the living room! Wonderful views, easy access to the Seine, and a fantastic location to all the exciting sites (and neighborhoods). But, I have a serious complaint regarding the furniture in the living room. As pretty as it is, the furniture in the apartment is impractical for a rental. The second sofa is rigid and upholstered in a very delicate material, making it impossible for relaxation. The sitting chairs, too, are upholstered in a delicate fabric, and they, too, were uncomfortable. In fact, other than the one modern sofa (that we all fought to sit on!) there was not one comfortable chair or other sofa in the apartment to relax in, and we were a party of five! For this reason, I would certainly advise people of this problem. It is because of the uncomfortable seating arrangement that I cannot recommend this apartment with the highest rating. This apartment is definitely not the apartment to rent if you have young children. I look forward to renting another apartment from HIP for our next trip to Paris. Everyone at HIP was helpful, kind, and professional. I would also like to add that one of HIP's recommended drivers, Andy Waters, was very helpful, too. Although he could not pick us up from the airport due to the size of our party, he assisted us in retaining another driver. We were very appreciative of his assistance. Again, thank you HIP and Loredana for a wonderful Parisian experience! Please let me know if there is a furniture change--if so, we may just have to rent that apartment again! Note from Haven in Paris: We are looking into alternative seating arrangements. That said, seating is subjective and to some the antique arm chairs and couch are, in fact, comfortable.
Our family of four had a trip of a lifetime to Paris this summer. We were taking our daughters (6&8 yrs) to Paris for the first time, and celebrating my 40th and 20th year anniversary of studying abroad in Paris. It was a nostalgic vacation and the HIP team had a lot to do with it. We rented Ecoles in the 5th. The apartment was well-equipped, and the windows and views were amazing. So much natural light and lovely views of the Cluny museum gardens, Notre Dame, & Sacre Coeur. The balcony and views were wonderful--we especially enjoyed the breeze and views early in the morning and at the end of the day. The location was perfect for our family. We were centrally located with easy walking distance to the Luxembourg Gardens, the Seine, Ile St.Louis, Ile de la Cite, and several metro stops. All of which I was picky about traveling with young children. There are wonderful markets and shops nearby to stock the apt with delicious food and wine. We had a wonderful time dining most evenings in the chic 6th arrondissement. I highly recommend Ecoles if you are looking for an apartment which is centrally located with stunning views of Paris. The only negative (& it did not bother us) to the apartment is the small size of the bedrooms, especially the 2nd bedroom which had a twin with a trundle. This was charming and perfect for our family, but I can see where it would be too small for two couples (or 4 adults)to share. It would be great as a one bedroom for a romantic getaway. The bathroom and kitchen were fantastic and very well-equipped.
My husband and I visited for the fourth time with our 16 year old granddaughter and stayed at Ecoles. The trip was a gift for her 16th birthday. She was enthralled by the city and would like to return, hopefully while in college. What a wonderful location and lovely apartment. The convenience to everything plus the views from the apartment was fantastic. We went everywhere, ran ourselves ragged every day and had a wonderful time. Working with Haven In Paris is great, they are very responsive and we found our hostess Evelyne one of the best. One of the best experiences we have had, her enthusiasm is wonderful as well as her knowledge. Plus she is a very sweet person and really made us feel comfortable. All the comforts of home, well worth the price.
I think of Evelyne (greeter) all the time. She made us feel that she was always available for any need -- a lovely feeling! Another happy surprise was the view being even more awesome than imagined from the description. (I see it still.) Looking down on a substantial Roman ruin just below our balcony (across the street) was surely a stunning surprise. The apartment location was much better than I expected. The grocery store nearby was great, especially for a quick emergency, if we had forgotten something. The neighborhood was bustling, but we heard no street noise! Then there was the luxurious abundance of bath towels and tea towels. And, for anyone who might want to entertain elegantly, there were all those beautiful glasses and dishes! The beds were good and the linens luxurious. We appreciated the washer dryer, and the security of the apartment, the friendliness of folks in the building that we ran into coming and going, the neighborhood, the free calls to the U. S. (which thrilled folks), and above all, we appreciated Evelyne!
We loved the Ecoles apartment, and Lorandana, our greeter, was terrific. We arrived at 10am to an apartment all ready for us to move into. What a wealth of knowledge she has about the city. She was readily available prior to our arrival, and patiently waited for us to arrive on the 18th. Our shuttle from the airport was delayed, so we were about an hour later arriving. She filled us in on apartment, and gave us the numbers to reach her if we needed her. She made our departure simple as well. The apartment was clean as a whistle. The three of us found our sleeping arangements, including the sofa bed very comfortable. Our three days flew by as we settled in and wished for a couple more days in Paris before traveling on. This is the way to stay in Paris. One's own home or Haven in Paris. We began to feel the Parisian heartbeat as we walked around. The bottle of wine and flowers were a special added touch. We had great weather, great fun and enjoyed it all. We had great crepes at Cafe Kern just three or four buildings up on rue St Michel. Hop On/ Off Bus is a great way to see all the big sites. Thanks again for the beautiful setting and wonderful place! I will recommend HiP to my friends who are planning a trip to Paris this fall. The Ecoles apartment was so comfortable, and perfectly located for all we wanted to do and see.
We recently (April 2010) completed a wonderful 10-day stay in the rue des Ecoles apartment. But for an Icelandic volcano, the stay would have been 14 days. Still, we loved it. We are regular visitors to Paris and now check the availability of HIP apartments when we begin to schedule our trips. We do so because they are wonderfully equipped, well located, and very reliable. The HIP staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rue des Ecoles apartment is one we’ve grown particularly fond of. The view from the open kitchen/living room is marvelous. Anyone sitting on the narrow but functional balcony will be able to identify the towers of St. Germain de Pres, Sacre Coeur, Ste. Chapelle, the Hotel de Ville, St. Sulpice and Notre Dame. Below the balcony, are the remains of the Roman baths and the Cluny/Musée de Moyen Age. Across the street from the front door is the Brasserie Balzar. Around the corner and a block farther on is the Cluny-la Sorbonne Metro stop. A six-block walk will take you to the Luxembourg Gardens. A six-block walk in the opposite direction will take you to Ste. Chapelle and Notre Dame. A Monoprix store for regular grocery shopping is two blocks away. The markets at Place Monge and rue Mouffetard are a reasonable stroll—or a short Metro ride—away. La Grande Epicerie at Bon Marche is 4 Metro stops away. For us, at least, the location is perfect. The apartment boasts one of the best kitchens we’ve found among the half-dozen or so apartments in Paris with which we are familiar. While we love Paris restaurants, we also enjoy going to nearby markets, buying the beautiful vegetables, meats and fish, and cooking “at home.” With this apartment, that is not only possible but a pleasure. The kitchen has a great oven, stove, microwave and dishwasher. More importantly, it has pots, pans, baking dishes, good knives and other utensils that make cooking easy and fun. The bedrooms in the apartment are small and mostly window-less; however, they have ample closet space and nice bedding. The bathroom is accessible only through the bedrooms—a minor inconvenience—but is very well appointed. The separate washer and dryer are also in the bathroom and work well—an important fact if you like to travel light or plan to stay more than a week. Doug Blomgren Portland, Oregon
Our family of four has thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ecoles apartment. Superb area of the city - plenty of neighborhood restaurants, boulangeries, etc. Place Maubert market (Tues, Thurs, Saturdays) is a great place for provisions. Cluny Museum, a real gem. We especially appreciated the efficient HiP organization, seamless and professional!
What was a business trip to Paris, seemed like a vacation. I'm so happy I found "HIP". Being in such a beautiful apartment with all the necessities at my fingertips...phone, laptop, washer & dryer to name a few. It was truly amazing....the view of the city and ancient roman baths below...magical. I'll be back in September for sure. I love it! P.S. there are 3 Starbucks within a block of Ecoles.
OMG it couldn't have been nicer. Second or third time for me in this flat. So convenient to everything and everywhere... Shop in Maubert market wonderful, esp. cheese shop and charcuterie. Monoprix good for inexpensive wine and staples. Adored Cluny Museum as always and could happily live there. Rue de Buci food shops wonderful. Also sampled every (almost) macaroon in Paris, Laduree, wines, famous for stuffed madeleines (??). Love the flat as we could cook, drink too much, make coffee and tea and also thankful for the computer, washing machine and dishwasher and hair dryer! We had everything we could possibly need or want. Huge thanks to everyone in Haven in paris.
We had a wonderful stay in Paris with our 3 young children. The apartment was perfect for us and we thoroughly enjoyed returning to it every afternoon - sheltering from the chaos outside - which we also loved. Many happy memories were made during this holiday in Paris. Until next time.
Great experience. Very smooth and friendly people - all the way through. The apt & view were better than in the pictures! (a rare occurrence). Thank you Haven in Paris - I would definitely recommend & use you guys again.
Second time in a Haven in Paris apartment. Both were wonderful. The Ecoles apartment is fantastic. It's lovely, comfortable and has a great location. I can't believe it looks down over the ruins fo the Roman Baths. The views are amazing. We found a great restaurant up Rue St. Jacques... Grand Bar Cluny. Had two meals there and they were both great. Also loved the caberet at Aux Trois Mailletz and jazz at Le Caveau de la Huchette. Both Adam and Evelyne were great greeters and took very good care of us. I highly recommend Haven in Paris!!!!
We spent almost 2 weeks at the apartment on Rue des Ecoles. Everything about the apartment was as good or better than expected. Even though it's in a very busy area, the apartment is very quiet - as far as both noise from the street or from neighbors. The view is great and the living areas are very comfortable. The bedrooms are small but adequate. The sofa bed is comfortable and has a great view! The kitchen is ultra-modern. The apartment worked out great for us and despite loving visited Paris several times before, this location allowed us to really enjoy this area. Don't miss visiting the Pantheon + Cluny - and spending time in Luxembourg Garden. The market at the Maubert Metro station was so wonderful. The cheese shop & the rotisserie place made it very easy to enjoy evenings "at home". Restaurants that we enjoyed were "Au coin des Gourmets" (South-East asian), "Le petit Pontoise" + "Le pre-verre. If you stay here, or anywhere else I imagine, plan ahead so you have whatever you need for Sunday because most shops are closed. Hope to come back.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment! We all had a great time & we loved being so close to everything & loved the view across the rooftops. Hope to come back again one day! Many thanks.
My family and I loved the Ecoles apartment we stayed in. During our 8 weeks of travel we stayed in 8 different places and found this to be the most comfortable, we felt right at home. The location is excellent and everything you could possibly need you will find in this apartment. The furniture is great it gives you a Parisienne feel indoors. I would highly recommend this apartment.
I want to express to you what a tremendous contribution you, the apartment and your entire staff made towards one of the most enjoyable stays I have ever had in Paris. I remain extremely impressed with the impeccable organization, hospitality, communication and attention to detail that you all manifested. My only complaint is that as a result, I am now very homesick and want to return to Paris as soon as possible! Looking forward to working with you again in the near future.
We were traveling to London and Paris. We had rented a lovely mews house in Kensington and we feared that our Paris apartment would pale in comparison. This couldn't have been further from the truth. The Ecoles apartment was fabulous and perfect for our family of four. Our two young kids loved the second bedroom and slept like rocks. The apartment was beautifully equipped, right down to an Apple laptop computer with wireless. The view is not to be believed and the neighborhood is triple prime. Our only regret in being so honest about this fabulous apartment is that it might not be available the next time we want to rent it.
We had a wonderful stay with delightful weather. Our (young) children especially enjoyed the Luxembourg garden play centre, the garden d'acclimation, sailing boats and horse riding in the Tuilleries. Versailles was also a big success. We walked everywhere. Thank you for providing such a delightful apartment in such a central location.
What a beautiful city, and a wonderful apartment. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful apartment. We enjoyed every minute! We'll be back!
We had a very enjoyable visit to Paris - thank you for the well located and equipped apartment as a home base.
We had a great week in Paris. Lovely even in the rain. Food was wonderful and we tried many different things. Thank you for the wonderful apartment with the incredible view.
Superb! Magnifique! Truly a warm and charming "home" to return to after a long days trollop through Paris. The apartment really transported us to a different feel yet kept us comfortable as if in our very own beds. Thank you! We really hope to be back soon.
Wonderful! So comfortable! The couches, chairs and especially the beds! Very quiet at night. Great location for getting around and easy access to Metro, and walking distance to many sights. It was so great to plop down after hours of adventuring. We are fortuntate that we found this apartment. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your home.
I cannot say enough about our stay at the apartment at Rue des Ecoles. The apartment was perfect, better than I could have imagined it to be and our greeter, Francoise, was so sweet and helped us get settled. Also, the location couldn't have been better. It was so close to transportation, great shops and restaurants, as well as the center of the city. I got a great feel for what it would be like to live in this amazing neighborhood. I can't wait to go back to France and I will for sure use Haven in Paris. It was a wonderful experience. Thanks!
We could not have asked for a better location or a more beautiful apartment than this. In the heart of a vibrant neighborhood, the flat offered easy walking to the Metro as well as Paris's must-see attractions. The space itself was extremely clean and exquisitely appointed -- with no detail overlooked. The view of Montmartre and Notre Dame made us want to spend our evenings chatting on the porch enjoying the day's purchase of wine and cheese. A veritable home way from home! A big nod to the courteous and professional team at HIP -- a very smooth operation from reservation to departure. Truly an excellent experience all around.
Our week in Paris was unforgettable, and a lot was due to the charming apartment with a perfect view on rue des ecoles. We loved the light, open feeling, and all the conveniences we could ask for from phone and computer connections to big screen tv and a well-equipped kitchen. The location couldn't have been better and at night the view and lights of Paris were before our eyes like we were watching a movie. It was divine!
Ecoles is a lovely apartment in a fabulous location. We loved the views over the rooftops towards Notre Dame, with Sacre Cour in the distance. The apartment is spacious and light. Kitchen and bathroom are very modern. We loved being centrally located in the 5th, with a great cafe outside our door, good restaurants nearby, and the Metro just a block away.
We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the apartment. The decor of the apartment was beautiful and the various appliances worked well and made our stay very convenient. The view was probably the best part! To overlook ancient Roman baths and to view the Sacre Coeur and the towers of the Notre Dame Cathedral was terrific. The location was quite handy and central. We often returned to the apartment midday to rest, as it was so centrally located. We had 8 days in Paris and had planned to visit Versailles one of those days. Instead, we found ourselves so much enjoying walking out of the apartment to parks, gardens, museums, and restaurants - we didn't even want to leave town. Our greeter, Françoise, was lovely. She was helpful, on time, and did a good job of familiarizing us with the apt. We had a wonderful trip and will savor our memories for a long time.
My family and I had a truly wonderful time in Paris thanks to your amazing place and staff or referrals. The driver was punctual from David's firm, Jessica and Francoise were perfect sitters and greeters and Sarah was very responsive.
Four of us stayed at the apartment and the location was PERFECT! Metro one block away walking distance to the Seine, Museums, shopping etc. I would definitely stay there again. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need and is decorated very nicely. Only draw back is the stove. It doesn't work with the frying pans provided so it made cooking difficult. ***NOTE from Haven in Paris - the problem has been rectified & there are now proper frying pans that work with induction Burners.
The apartment was exactly as billed. There was a fantastic view of Notre Dame and Montmartre. We didn't feel the need to be out all of the time because we enjoyed our time in the apartment so much.
Erica, congratulations on running such a wonderful business. The professionalism shown by Francoise, Genevieve, and Alain were all noted. We are very lucky to have your apartment to share with our family. This is our first trip to Paris & NOT the last. # 1 plus we all felt safe and at ease with the area. Great location. We visited nearly all parts of Paris on foot, and we returned "home" at night to enjoy our view with a glass or two of French bubbles of vin! Le Bon Marché: what a department store & what a wonderful foodies experience worth the walk just for the browse! Ile st Louis so cute for a wander & off the beaten track of tourists. Overall we braved the Metro, so easy, RER to Versailles,so easy, outside the building & 2 mins walk, one train all the way. Our weather was cool and crisp and wonderful, we don't get this weather in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia so we loved it! Thanks again, our family really enjoyed the location & the well appointed, modern, super clean, groovy apartment in Paris. A bientôt.
We had a great time in Paris. We loved our apartment. Thank you.
I have to say that I was truly surprised by how wonderful the entire experience was. My company coordinates large-scale hospitality events so I often look at these experiences with a very critical eye. You really have thought of just about every detail and your manual is spectacular. I was impressed by how quickly you were able to turn-around my reservation arrangements on such short notice. The apartment was much more impressive in person than in the photos and it was actually much more centrally-located than I had anticipated. As someone who stays in hotels in Paris several times a year and has never considered an apartment rental, I am now an apartment convert!
We just loved the apartment. It was warm as we watched the snow falling outside and you had seemingly thought of everything. It was all such a delight. We have stayed in apartments all over Europe and I really believe that this was the best set up of any we have used. It was wonderful and we have raved about it to all our friends. Francoise was lovely and very helpful. We would most definitely use one of your apartments again and hope to be able to do so sooner rather than later!
A stunning apartment in a beautiful city! We felt completely at home and looked forward to returning to the apartment every evening. The location was perfect and allowed us to walk around the city and enjoy the atmosphere. The weather was so cold but very sunny. We definitely hope to return. So romantic! Thank you for some very happy memories! A perfect was to spend the first part of the new year.
A wonderful few days in this lovely apartment. We were warm and cosy as the snow fell in Paris. Hope to be visiting again soon.
Beautiful apartment in a fantatsic location. Can't wait to come back!
We adored the apartment (and were extremely reluctant to leave) and looked forward to returning there at the end of each day! It had all the appliances one could possibly need and the location (St Germain) was perfect! We were so close to everything! We made use of the maps and guide books provided and found these rather useful. It was also great to have access to the Internet too, as Mark has a business to run, he could easily check it was all running smoothly. We decided to eat in on several nights as we enjoyed the apartment so much and found it extremely relaxing. It was clean and tidy when we moved in and we were met by the beautiful Francoise who was extremely helpful and informative. She recommended places to visit and answered all our questions about Paris. She was friendly and professional and punctual and it was reassuring to know she was there if we needed any help. I nearly forgot to mention just how stunning the view was. We felt so lucky being able to wake up each morning and enjoy our breakfast with such an amazing view of Paris. We would definitely love to return sometime in the future and would not hesitate at all to go back to the same apartment. It felt like home. All in all, the standard was extremely high and we would recommend it to anyone we know going to Paris. Thank you for providing such a wonderful service and look we look forward to visiting again!
My wife Stephanie and I and our two daughters had a wonderful week in the Ecoles apartment. The views and location made us all feel immersed in the local Parisian culture. Can I just say that your greeter Francoise was very helpful before our stay ( recommending a fabulous restaurant - Le Grand Colbert - for a Christmas Eve family dinner that will be long remembered ) and very gracious and helpful on our arrival in Paris. We had a lovely Xmas and enjoyed the bells ringing at midnight on Xmas eve and throughout Xmas day. We were warm and comfortable for the week. We had a wonderful time. A most memorable trip.
Inspirational view even if it rained every day this past week. Perfect apartment, I hate to leave, hope to be back in warm weather! J'aime cette ville.
On our second stay with Haven in Paris, we were delighted to discover that the service from one property to the next is consistently excellent. Our greeter, Jessica, was waiting for us with fresh roses and wine. What better way to start off? The Ecoles apartment is an absolute luxury in Paris with so much space and so many windows offering an abundance of sunlight and sublime views in every direction. It is a quiet building and a lovely quiet location at night. In the daytime and in the evening, it is just steps away from brasseries and bistros, bus routes and three metro stops. The amenities are so thoughtful...hair dryers, tea and coffee, Internet service and English language news channels on TV, a list of museums with opening times and an extensive book of directions and recommendations. The apartment is appointed with a luxurious abundance of linens and towels, a bright and modern kitchen equipped with everything one might need. We were delighted to discover a Saturday afternoon concert taking place at the Cluny Museum right next door - the perfect way to start our stay in Paris. There were recitals and concerts in all the churches within walking distance and tickets were inexpensive at the door. For groceries, prepared food and wine, Monoprix is just across the street. Brasseries and Bistros abound in the Latin Quarter, so dinner can be a new adventure every evening. With the new non-smoking laws in effect, eating out is once again a pleasure in Paris! As frequent visitors to Paris, we have had the opportunity to try and compare. Only the five star hotels compare to the luxury and comfort of Haven in Paris properties. We would recommend them heartily to others planning a vacation or a business trip.
I certainly have already begun referring your service to many of my work colleagues, and I look forward to renting from you in Paris again. I was greeted by Jessica, and then I met with Francoise on the day I was checking out, and both were absolutely lovely and helpful. Had I been staying longer than five days, I'm sure I would have made a point to speak with them more extensively. Both were sterling representatives of your business.
We really liked Rue des Ecoles. Fabulous position - we didn't even need to use the metro for the first two days as we could walk to so many places - Notre Dame, St Chapelle, the Conciergerie, the Pantheon, St Germain des Pres, Musee National de Moyen Age (just downstairs). The view was fabulous, too - looking out over the roof tops to Notre Dame and St Chapelle with Sacre Coeur and Montmartre in the distance. It was really well equipped and the internet made researching Paris so easy. Clean, comfortable, lovely antique furniture, lovely atmosphere all round. Just what we came to Paris to experience. Our greeter, Jeanne, was very nice. She was extremely helpful and even assisted us by rearranging our transfer to the apartment when we were delayed due to a plane cancellation.
It was a wonderful trip. Jessica, our greeter, was a delight! She was thorough with her explanations and was very helpful. One thing I would like to mention is that I never felt I was dealing with a group who was not willing to help me iron out any problems. Having you help me with the cab driver was wonderful. He was right there waiting on us when we arrived and knew exactly where the apartment was located. This saved us a lot of headaches. Thanks for everything.
This was our second time in a year to stay for two weeks in Paris. I tried to get this apartment last year but it was unavailable. Both apartments were in the same area which we really like. In general, I really liked how organized you are, lots of information and contacts to make sure everything is on track. You are very professional and would use you again based upon your high level of service. Our greeter was very nice, got to the apartment a little late-about 30 minutes after our agreed time-but no big deal . She also arranged a taxi on the morning of our departure which showed up right on time and she also called the day before our departure to confirm the time. The man that cleaned our apartment was very nice also and did a great job. We really like the view and the kitchen and living area. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything we needed. One small mechanical problem was the door handle from the large bedroom to the bathroom was broken and the door would only close with the dead bolt. Overall, no real problems and really enjoyed the apartment and would definitely come back again.
This is our second time visiting a "Haven In Paris" apartment and we couldn't have been more happy. The comfort of this particular apartment truly felt like our 'haven' from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. This location was perfect, close to everything. We absolutely loved the view. We also appreciated the cleanliness of the apartment and all the available materials we needed to enjoy a 10 day stay (i.e., laundry detergent, plenty of towels, dishes, cooking utensils, etc.). Thank you for accommodating us with the baby crib and high chair. It made our travel experience far less stressful to know we didn't have to bring that with us. We loved Jessica our greeter (and babysitter), she was incredibly helpful. She tackled "concierge" like service to us when we were in desperate need of finding raw milk for our daughter. She even check in with us in the middle of the week to make sure we were okay and that the info she gave us worked out. She's very pleasant and professional. We had other friends staying in a 'HIP' apartment and had the pleasure of fabulous times together in both locations.
Have just returned to New Zealand and a beautiful spring here. Makes up for having to come home after a gorgeous and brilliant holiday! We wanted to thank you for a most enjoyable stay and for Kyra (our greeters) help. The Ecoles apartment was very sweet and in such a good part of St Germain. We found everything well appointed. We look forward to staying in another apartment with Haven in Paris in the future.
Thank you for your interest. We had a wonderful time. Kyra (our greeter) is wonderful and helpful in every way. Regarding the apartment, the kitchen was terrific to work in. I really enjoyed trying the induction stovetop. It's obvious from what's been added, that you are striving to suit American taste. The view, of course, is something that makes one want to stay home rather than enjoy the city. We will recommend Haven in Paris whenever asked about who we rent from in various cities. Thank you.
We had a wonderful time in Paris and your apartment is perfect for the location, as well as the accommodations. Carrie was our greeter and she did explain everything thoroughly. The manual for the apartment was of great use to us and more updates for the stove and dishwasher will be entered. We truly enjoyed your haven in Paris and would recommend it to our friends.
This was our first time staying at an apt. My husband and I took my mother alone so we needed the extra room & space. To our surprise it turn out to be a great apt, location, fully stock supplies and lots off light with great views. Thanks Again, Gloria & Rudy
The apartment on Rue Des Ecoles (St. Germain) was absolutely breathtaking! It was perfect for four women (my mom & I shared a most comfortable bed). The skyline views of Paris at night were what all our dreams have consisted of. Watching the pedestrians below from our beautiful terrace was a nightly experience we enjoyed after beautiful days in Paris. We will definitely turn to Haven In Paris the next time we plan a trip to Paris. We felt like locals!
The Ecoles apartment was stunning, even better than the pictures. It was a real pleasure to come home to every day...and so nice to awaken there in the morning, that it was difficult to leave. It is the perfect place from which to experience life in Paris. The apartment inspires you to slow down, pare down your sightseeing list to the essentials, and concentrate on soaking up the atmosphere around you. We had been a little unsure whether an apartment would work for us on our first visit to Paris. We thought we might need the services of a hotel concierge to help us with arrangements and recommendations. But our greeter, Kyra, took care of all of those details beautifully. She met us on arrival and gave us a thorough description of the lay of the land around us, key establishments for supplies, and sights to see. Then she was in constant contact with us throughout our stay to help with dinner reservations and answer questions. For us, this provided the perfect combination of privacy and space to ourselves, with support and advice as needed. She made everything so easy, and she was very professional and impressive, while also being so courteous and friendly. You are lucky to have a person like this on your team! Any qualms we had about renting an apartment sight unseen through the Internet proved completely unfounded with HIP. The organization was completely professional and reliable throughout the process. Kyra too was remarkably professional and friendly. Overall the experience was amazing and we hope to return!
My wife and I planned a visit to Paris to meet our daughter who was studying in Italy. The week we spent was magical and due in no small part to the HIP staff and the apartment at Ecole. The location was pefect, astride the border of the Latin Quarter and St. Germain de Pres, all of Paris seemed just a short walk away. Upon arrival we met delightful Kyra who welcomed us and then graciously walked with us around the neighborhood pointing out recommended shops and sights. The apartment itself was remarkable, so much so that we half-jokingly told ourselves that we should make all effort to keep it our wonderful secret. That would be unfair, of course, and so I write to tell you that HIP is first-class and the Ecole apartment will be my home whenever I visit Paris. Kelly Carroll
The apartment was a dream come true in every way. It is beautifully furnished, immaculate, and the views from the balcony are unbelievable. One day it rained, and the sun came out in the middle of the storm. Imagine our delight when a rainbow appeared right over the spires of Notre Dame. We took a lot of pictures!! Kyra was our greeter, and she was wonderful. She kept in touch by email. Having free internet access, and free local and international calls was such a nice bonus. We never even had to use our cell phones. The metro stop is about 3 minutes walk, and connects you to all of Paris. There are Boulangeries and Patisseries a few blocks away for morning croissants. The Monoprix grocery store can be seen from the balcony. If you go, be sure to go DOWNSTAIRS to find the very large wine shop and grocery store with everything you will need to prepare delicious meals in the apartment. There are dozens of cafes in the area, and the bistro almost directly across the street is excellent. One of our favorite restaurants is La Petite Hostellerie, which is only a few blocks away. It is very inexpensive, and owned by the same family for decades. We also love Polidor, only a few blocks also. We have visited Paris dozens of times, and have always stayed in hotels. Never again. We will rent this beautiful apartment evey time we come, and have already recommended it to friends.
We had a wonderful experience renting the Ecoles apartment from Haven in Paris: great view, great location. No hotel can make you feel as comfortable or give you as much of the taste and feel of a neighborhood as Kyra did when she walked us around that first day. Thank you Kyra for your great recommendations. I'm already eyeing HIP's properties in Provence and Tuscany and have recommended HIP to friends.
We were greeted by Kyra at the apartment and she was extremely wonderful. She made us feel welcomed and at home. What a wonderful reception! She kept in touch during the week to ask if we were doing well and if we needed anything. We could not have asked for a better experience. I was hesitant about renting an apartment, but thought it would be better than being cramped in a hotel room. I was right. I will definetly rent from Haven in Paris again. Loved it!! Thanks Kyra
The apartment was fabulous. Carrie was there to meet us and she was absolutely delightful and extremely helpful in showing us around the apartment, etc. She also went out of her way and organised a taxi for us upon our departure which was great. Walking into the apartment felt like walking into my own home, all the little extras were there, like the washing powder, etc, coffee in the fridge, few essentials in the cupboards, etc and plenty of linen & blankets, etc. and everything was so clean and fresh (the flowers and wine were a lovely touch). The location was fantastic, so close to everything. The lounge was very spacious and the few to Sacre Coeur just beautiful. The bedrooms were a little small, but that is what you expect in Paris and that is certainly a small price to pay for such a wonderful apartment. One suggestion would be a selection of DVD's (or where to go to hire them) for those nights when your feet are so sore and you just feel like sitting back with a good bottle of wine. Apart from these minor things, it was just perfect - the best place we stayed on our European trip. When I return to Paris it will be my first choice of accommodation and I will certainly be telling all my friends about it.Thanks again for making our stay so memorable.
Erica et al, our stay was fabulous. Everything worked. The view was spectacular. The recommended restaurants and shops were terrific. It couldn't have been better, really. The taxi service was right there upon our arrival and delivered us to our door within 30 mins. Also they were exactly on time the day of our departure and thats something because we had to be at the airport @5AM. Our next trip to the continent will be Tuscany and we hope to use your services again.
We were SO thrilled with the apartment. We felt the photographs on your website depicted it perfectly. We were very pleased with everything: the large bathroom, the comfy beds, the very well equipped kitchen and the location was exceptional (the view of Sacre Coeur was magnificent!). For 2 women travelling alone, we felt completely safe in the neighborhood and the building. The computer and free long distance was especially appreciated. It was so nice to stay connected to family during our trip, as well as having access to websites for maps and weather and transit strike updates. Kyra (our greeter) was terrific! As a matter of fact, I emailed her yesterday to tell her how happy we were with her, as well as our stay. She was so friendly and informative about the neighborhood and even walked us around and showed us the market, wine store, bakery, etc. She was right on time the day of our departure (especially impressive given the transit strike!) In all honesty, I can't think of a thing you could change. The trip to Paris was a gift from me to my Mother for her 70th birthday, and it was so special...a week neither one of us will ever forget. It was her 1st time in Paris and only her 2nd time in Europe, and she was so excited about staying in an apartment vs a hotel room. It was truly a luxury. We would definitely recommend Haven in Paris to anyone coming to Paris. Thank you for helping make our trip so wonderful!
There are many things about this apartment we liked: Location, high floor with elevator, apartment layout and construction, balcony and its views, ammenities, (free phone), equipped kitchen, laundry, and of course the helpful staff, mostly Kyra who was our greeter. We believe that new L/R furniture is scheduled, and it is good since it is needed as the current one is not in great shape. Other than the furniture, a big enhancement would be to put a ramp up to the kitchen step which takes at least two good toe whacks to get used to.
It is very rare that a property found on the internet will exceed one's expectations - but this apartment did. The view is incredible, the welcome is warm, the towels fluffy and the beds comfortable. I wish I were still ensconced on the balcony....
Our experience with "Haven in Paris" was terrific - they were prompt, courteous and helpful throughout even to the point of helping us to find gluten-free shops for our son in Paris! We loved the location of our flat and the view was exquisite, especially at night. My husband thought he had died and gone to heaven when he discovered there was an i-Mac and internet access - and to be honest, it helped us to check out the opening hours of many of the museums we visited. Our 2 kids loved the balcony, the elevator and the "cool" shower. I loved having a home away from home. Our son has special needs as well as food allergies and having somewhere we could recuperate after a long day sightseeing made all the difference to his (and our) well-being. It was also vital to our being able to prepare his foods - and the well-stocked kitchen made that a breeze. Our only flag to other families would be with regards to the very creaky floors - they are beautiful but if your kids are light sleepers, they could be an issue for you. We had a wonderful experience in our "Haven in Paris" and now have many memories of our trip to relish in the future.
My family and I have 2 small children. We really enjoyed the proximity of the apartment to the Luxemburg Garden which has a fabulous children's play park. Just around the corner of the apartment is a small park at the Medieval museum which was perfect for some outside exercise with the kids. In addition the washer and dryer are lifesavers with small children. The TV is equipped with a US DVD player so we brought along family movies and cartoons. All of these things made it much easier to travel with a 3 and 6 year old. F
We were all very impressed with the apartment and the greeters. In short, everything was wonderful. All the information on the web site, including the pictures, painted a true picture of the apartment. There were NO ugly surprises. Both greeters were very friendly and very helpful. We were particularly thankful that they were able to let us in early on the day we arrived; we tried to give a favor back on our last day by allowing the cleaners to come in early on the day we left so the next person could come in early. Also, we very much appreciated the free wifi and use of the phone. We didn't need the macbook because we had one, but it was classy to have it there for us. We didn't use the TV because we don't watch much TV and because we were too busy seeing Paris. We also appreciated that the little sponges and towels and soaps and little things like that were already there so we didn't have to worry about wasting time to go get them. From start to finish, it was a classy place and very clearly very well managed. I think you should sell the location even more on the web site. That location is absolutely wonderful! The only slight problem we had was with the driver who drove my wife to the apartment from the airport. He got lost and I actually called her while he was driving around and helped him get on track (and I had only been in Paris for two days!). Our greeter called the car company on the last day when we told her as we were leaving and told them about the getting lost and the company gave us a free ride to the train station. But, MY driver was excellent both picking me up at the airport and taking me to the train station. He even walked my baggage deep into the bowels of the train station to help me find the luggage lockers. He was wonderful. Thanks so much for doing such a great job. And, send my thanks to all those involved making our stay so great. I know we'll come right to you folks next time we come to Paris.
We stayed in this beautiful apartment with our 2 teenagers for one week. It looked exactly like the pictures but exceeded our expectations in small but meaningful ways.Because Paris was very hot while we were there, we slept each night with all the french doors thrown open. The wonderful cross-breezes and incredible views made us feel really immersed in the city of Paris (and it was surprisingly quiet at night) My son,who was sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room, especially loved waking up every morning to the sights and sounds of the city. The phone plan, computer, and washer/dryer really made life easier, especially with 2 teens around. We were at the very beginning of a three month trip throughout Europe and we didn't realize until after we left the apartment just how rare it is to have a dryer! The best part of the apartment was its location. During the week we were there, we walked absolutely everywhere. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance (and each of us wanted a different Paris experience) We only took the Metro once, from the Eiffel Tower at the end of a long, tiring day. In a city like Paris, where walking is the best way to experience its beauty, this was a very important feature. Also, its location made it possible for me to wake up every morning and with just a 5 minute walk, purchase everything we needed for a wonderful Parisian breakfast. What a lifestyle!
Erica, Alain, Kyra and Claudia, Thank you! Thank you! We will be back! Your apartment is perfect - your staff as well, so helpful and attentive - above and beyond our expectations.
The apartment was our home away from home - everything we could ask for. We appreciated the roses and the wine. Merci beaucoup!
We had a wonderful time at the apartment. It was a lovely treat to have the wine and roses waiting for us. And, we were so grateful for the Internet and the phone service. The granddaughter of the friend I was traveling with was having some medical issues while we were in Paris, so having the free phone calls to the US and the e-mail was an extra special bonus. The information in the apartment about equipment, restaurants, etc. was very much appreciated and the maps with local resources was very helpful. Kyra was great. She had a French brunch waiting for us and was very good about explaining everything in the apartment and answering questions about the area. She checked in with us during our stay and we were very pleased with her service. She is very personable and knowledgeable and she represented you well. We found the apartment very comfortable and loved the view. The Cluny is one of my favorite museums and having a view of the excavated Roman baths was an unexpected treat. Also, the sight of Sacre Coeur lit up at night was wonderful. You should advertise this view more on your website. I have recommended this apartment and your website to several other people. The whole experience in working with Erica and others during the process was very smooth and gave me confidence in renting through you. I have rented over the Internet before and I know it can be scary. This is one of the best experiences I've had, so keep up the good work. Thank for the opportunity to rent your lovely apartment.
Thanks very much to all of you, and especially Kyra, for taking such good care of us in Paris. The apartment was perfect and met our needs to a tee. Kyra was friendly, helpful and solicitous; she was there to greet us, gave us all the information we needed to make our stay comfortable, checked in with us mid-way through, and saw us out the door quickly and effortlessly on the last day of our stay. You could not ask for a better representative! I also want to commend Ines of Elyseecars, who was also incredibly helpful to us as we dealt with flight delays, bad Parisian traffic, etc. Thanks again so much for everything. We'll look forward to our next trip to Paris, and in the meantime, we'll be sure to recommend Havin in Paris to our friends and families.
These people have it together. We arrived very early - only minutes after the previous tenants left, and HIP representative Claudia greeted us with open arms. Even the woman cleaning after the prior guests was a gem. We have more photos of the view from Ecoles apartment and the apartment itself that we do of anything else in the city. Everything is clean, up to date, and comfortable. There is even a laptop in the apartment. Highly recommend.
I couldn't have custom-ordered a better-suited place to stay. In fact, I'm still going through withdrawal from my early morning coffee on the balcony perch. This apartment is located in the epicenter of Paris and completely convenient. Kyra, our greeter, was exceptional and highly professional in every way.I highly recommend, but selfishly want to keep it my secret.
We had a WONDERFUL trip... The apartment in Paris was fantastic... It had all of the amenities that we'd find at home. We took the opportunity to have an occasional home cooked meal which the kids really appreciated (they were getting tired of eating out all the time). It was also in a great location... we found everything in Paris was easily accessible from the apartment. A short stroll got you to all modes of transport or to some of the major sites. The tips on restaurants, markets, patisseries, getting around, etc were very helpful. Upon arrival Kyra (our greeter) was great. She provided us with the perfect introduction to the apartment, how things worked and what was nearby. She was also just as helpful when we were leaving and ordered us a taxi so that we could all get to the train station for the trip to Venice. Should we get the opportunity to get back to Paris soon, I will certainly contact Haven in Paris first!
The size was perfect for the three of us, the location and view superb. If anything, the building and apartment amenities were nicer than expected. Our greeter was Carrie, who is young and trying very hard to please. She met us early Sunday afternoon and again at exactly 6:50 am as arranged--surely not very popular working hours. We were even pleasantly surprised by the weather in late February. Coming from New England, it was wonderful to see daffodils and forsythia and magnolias in bloom. It rained a little every day, but not enough to keep us from doing the things we wanted to do. We used the driver service from the airport that you recommended, and that worked very well, too. Truly, we enjoyed our stay. You may hear from us for future trips. Best wishes.
This is a great apartment....charming, convenient to the best areas in Paris....great neighborhood...excellent restaurants... etc. The apartment has panoramic views of the city and romantic Paris rooftops. The hosts are attentive and available for their guests. The price is definitely worth the stay. I would return without hesitation. I fully recommend this apartment for those with an appreciation for style and grace. Louie
This apartment is everything we hoped for and more! It is beautifully appointed and wonderfully situated. Carrie was our greeter and super sweet and helpful.
From my first conversation with Erica, to our arrival in Paris, Haven in Paris could not have been more helpful. Our apartment was in the most beautiful neighborhood, and was perfectly located for all of our excursions. The Cluny was in our front yard, and the metro stop just steps away from our front door. The building is quiet, warm, and neighbor-friendly. Our family includes two, large football player college sons, so we were all very pleased to find the apartment size to be bigger than appearing in pictures on the website. We were greeted by lovely Kyra holding a bouquet of roses and a bottle of wine. What a wonderful welcome after a long flight. She showed us all the ins and outs of the apartment, which was perfectly outfitted, and then walked us to a lovely market to get some groceries. She checked with us throughout our stay to make sure all was well. Our trip to Paris was wonderful, and we cannot wait to get back to our lovely apartment on the rue de Ecoles. Thank you Erica and Kyra for making our trip so easy to plan !! The Pace Family
The apartment was wonderfully located - convenient to metro, shops, markets, and the 'sights'. I've never experience having a 'home' when traveling, but that is what this apartment felt like, even down to a > wonderful selection of books (what an unexpected 'gift'!). I found > myself walking to the balcony window often, pulled by the beautiful view. Our greeter was personable and provided all the information we needed to feel at home.
The apartment was fantastic. It enhanced our visit to Paris and we were very comfortable. The service provided by the HIP was excellent and made all the difference in the trip. My next visit to Paris will start with a visit to HIP.
Right from booking the apartment, we thought that Haven in Paris was courteous and helpful, and very informative about how to book etc. The apartment itself was charming, with fantastic views across Paris all the way to Sacre Coeur. Maybe a little more explanation was needed for how to use the security at the front door (ground level) but that is all. It was well equipped and all plumbing things worked well (not that usual in France). Our teenage children thought it was really cool, just a walk away from Cafe de Flor and Deux Maggots, but also easy for shopping and bars too. We'd definitely recommend it as a proper 'city' break, and would love to go back to see what it's like in warmer weather (we were there at Christmas). Local markets and food shopping were a joy. Thanks Erica (and Alain)
We had a lovely time in Paris and the apartment added greatly to the enjoyment of our trip. The location, ambiance and convenience of the apartment could not have been better. Both you and Alain were incredibly helpful and hospitable and despite the few glitches (the broken window and the internet access).....you went out of your way to resolve the issues and to insure a fun and authentic travel experience. Thanks again for helping with everything and for providing such an excellent service. I have already recommended your company & website to friends so I would be more than glad to give a positive endorsement for your website. Thanks again for everything!
Very easy and smooth. Erica was amazing and made everything so easy! Can't wait to return.
Krya was fantastic, the apartment could not have been better. We would love to return ASAP. Thanks Robert
The flat far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived and being met at the airport, things could not have gone more smoothly. The flat is in the best location overlooking not only the Cluny museum but also Notre Dame and only moments away from some of the best markets and food shops in Paris, to say nothing of the restaurants. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the shower an absolute dream and enough towels to satisfy even our teenage daughter. Kyra (our greeter) was brilliant and the flat was immaculate. We poured over all the information (in the flat) and there was plenty of it. We thought it was absolutely brilliant and we thank you very much. It was just fantastic. Perfect. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back next year. Not only was it a haven in Paris but heaven too.
We loved the apartment and really hated to leave. The location is extremely convenient. The view was fabulous. I can't get it out of my mind. Both sons were also in Paris (it was my 60th birthday). One stayed with us and the other in a hotel with his fiance. (They got engaged while in Paris) The apartment was a wonderful gathering place for all of us. Kyra (our greeter) was perfect, we were very impressed with her.
The apartment on Rue des Ecoles enhanced our trip immensely. The option to shop in the markets, cook in a wonderful kitchen and enjoy a meal with wonderful views was priceless. The entire experience was stress-free. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended this apartment to friends. Thanks to everyone at Haven in Paris for such a fantastic oasis.
The apartment was delighful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location could not have been better. The view was awesome, the rooftops of Paris and the roman ruins lit up every night outside our balcony. One small thing.....an electric coffee pot would have been nice. We were very comfortable and the bldg. certainly is a secure one. We would definitely rent this unit again. Kyra, the rep. that greeted us was delightful and professional. We really hated to leave this little "haven in paris"
The location & view were terrific, and the shower is the best in Europe! Both kitchen and bath were excellent, and it was great to have a dryer as well as a washer. The apartment was a bit smaller than we expected from the wide-angle camera shots when we first arrived. We didn't realize the second bedroom was SO small. We used it as a dressingroom for one couple; the pull-out sleeper in the livingroom gave us that gorgeous view of the lit-up city all night long. The main bedroom was fine and the bed VERY comfortable. And having breakfast while looking out at the sky- and roofscape was idyllic. The apartment is on the "back" of the building looking right down at the Cluny Museum and the small rue Sommerard, so it was very quiet for sleeping. Kyra, your greeter, was delightful, and we would like to introduce her to our nephew! We liked the apartment more and more as the week progressed and were glad to come home after a long day of roaming around the city or after day trips to Giverny and Versailles. Perfect location for walking everywhere in Paris (although we recommend the Metro for Sacre Coeur!).
This St. Germain flat has every amenity and the location couldn't be any better - a 7 minute walk to Notre Dame, 15-20 to the Louvre and two metro stations nearby. The view is breath taking and at night, the lighted Roman ruins of the Cluny glow directly in front of the balcony. It's much more pleasant enjoying the view with a glass of wine after a long day of touring instead of being stuck in a small hotel room. The apartment was well stocked with cleaning, laundry soap, and basic condiments so all you needed to buy was food. If you're too tired to cook, the well known Brassierie Balzar is directly across the street, and many other wonderful restaurants are nearby. Our daughter loved the "rain" shower in the bathroom and so did I. Highly recommended.
Beautiful apartment with great location and wonderful views. Erica and Alain were easy to work with and very pleasant. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would rent the apartment again at the drop of a hat. Nicely furnished, great work on the redone bath and kitchen... Feels nice to come home to after a long day out and about. Bedrooms are small (the norm in Paris) but comfortable. Open kitchen and living space are very pleasant. Recommended.
This was our second year working with Erica and Alain – a month at rue du Vieux Colombier, and nearly six weeks here – and we have found them to be delightful hosts. As old Paris hands – we have been coming to our favorite city in the world for over 40 years – the city is not new to us, but stays of this length are. The rue des Écoles apartment served us wonderfully. Its location is perfect, in terms of Paris geography, sure, but especially in terms of its height above, and its orientation to, the vistas across rooftops to toward Sacre Coeur, Sainte Chappelle, Notre Dame . . . to name a few of the sights . . . could not be improved! The apartment itself gave us everything we needed. The bedrooms are small but perfectly satisfactory. One of them is windowless, which might be important to some, but we slept there in complete comfort. In the living spaces windows abound, making for a very light and airy feeling. Cross ventilation between the north-and east facing main room and the air shaft at the back made even hot days – there are hot days in Paris in the summer – comfortable enough, and E & A provide several fans to help the breeze. We were there alone most of the time, but when son and daughter-in-law visited for a long weekend, we experienced both-bedrooms-in-use living. We would only note that the one bath connects the two bedrooms, which was no problem for us, but which might involve establishing some protocols for unrelated parties sharing. Would we do it again? In a heartbeat!
The 3 of us had a great time in this centrally located, fully equipped, clean apartment with breathtaking views of Paris. Because of the weather we could not take advantage of the charming balcony to have a glass of wine and drink in the view. Erica and Alain do everything they can to make the stay as easy and comfortable as possible. A thorough book is provided that covers any and all questions or possible needs. Be sure to take Erica's advice and use her car service to pick you up and return you to the airport.
Thank you--the apartment suited us very well and was close to everything we came to Paris to see! Very conveniently situated in a safe neighborhood. We were able to walk everywhere: the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay etc. Very comfortable and clean. The view from the balcony was truly impressive. No doubt we will be back again! Au revoir.
We had a wonderful time in the Rue des Ecoles apartment. We have told all our friends about it and are still marveling at how well you have decorated it and how comfortable it is. The view is outstanding and we spent many a happy hour with a glass of wine in hand just gazing out at the ever changing sky.
The view from the apartment could not be better....Sacre Coeur in the horizon, the towers of Notre Dame and bits of the Cluny Museum. The apartment is comfortable and conveniently located. I was there for a month in the winter. But to me the real test for an apartment is what happens when something goes wrong. We had problems with the washer and Erica and Alain dealt with the problem quickly and efficiently. I would rent from Erica and Alain again without hesitation.
Our family enjoyed our visit to Paris and staying in your unit. It was well equipped and well decorated. The location was very convenient to Metro/shopping/food/dining. The proximity to the car free streets for eating was a real plus. Erica and Alain were very helpful and improved our trip to Paris.
This apartment has more than everything for the self directed traveler. Modern conveniences, fantastic bathroom, plenty of sleeping space, better than you can imagine views, and an ambience one must experience for him/herself. To enter and find an apartment as if it were your own is a delight after a long journey. No need to run to the store unless you are in a hurry to sample local food and wine. Talk about being able to immerse your self into Parisian lifestyle! Everything you could want to do is within walking distance or a Metro ride (the Metro stop is only two blocks away.) If you by chance have not done your research on the area, have no fear, Erica has provided enough information for you to be able to navigate the sights and surrounding neighborhoods like an old pro. Enjoy a leisurely morning on the balcony with your coffee and fresh pastries and watch the city come to life. You will need the rest if you linger over late dinners as the Parisians do before striking out to explore this historical city. Erica has anticipated your every need while you are here on holiday. The flat comes fully stocked (kitchen, bathroom essentials) to enable you to just slide right into your daily routine. To know she is accessible by phone is a comfort if you feel it necessary but she is careful to not intrude. The entrance is secure and the lift is so great to have when carrying in your purchases. Why stay in a hotel where you are always on their schedule when you can truly be footloose and fancy free in this best of locations? I say "Go for it! You will not regret it!"
What a wonderful place - we loved the the style of the apartment, it was perfect and we had everything we needed for a great business/holiday stay. We felt so at home and comfortable. Also the location was fantastic, we could walk everywhere or take the metro if needed. Every morning we stepped out on the balcony, enjoyed the breathtaking view and had Paris at our feet. We are coming back asap!
I spent I week at this lovely apartment in September. I couldn't have asked for a better place in Paris. I had never stayed on the left bank, and he location put me close to things I really enjoyed seeing on this trip. Add to all the above that the owners are terrific, and you can't really ask for a better place to stay in Paris. Truly excellent.
My husband and I and our two older children stayed for a week in Erica's apartment. The location is great for walking almost anywhere in Paris. It felt very safe, clean, and comforitable. IT is so much nicer than staying in a hotel. We enjoyed having the kitchen for breakfast before going off for our day of adventure, and nice to come home to in the same way. A good place to kick back after busy outings. I especially appreciated having the taxis arrangements made for us on our departure. Thanks, Linda
Rue des Ecoles is a wonderful apartment in Paris. We had a fabulous time and I'm ready to return right away! The location was great for us and there was plenty of room. Erica was incredibly organized and easy to deal with (thanks!). If we know of anyone heading to Paris we'll be sure to refer them to this apartment. Our stay in Paris convinced me that I'm going to try and rent apartments whenever I can. Thanks so much for everything!
We found Erica's apartment a day after arriving Paris, July of 2005. We were first staying at a 4- star hotel near Concorde, and were disappointed with it's poor service and arrangements. So, out of desperation, we searched on the internet for all the service apartments in the Left Bank/Latin Quarter suitable for a family of 4, and found Erica's apartment. The apartment was perfect for our family! We were not only welcomed by fresh roses, Erica's friend greeted us and thoroughly explained the ins and outs of the apartment. She even prepared a book with addresses of all the nearby bakeries, cafes, restaurants, hospitals, emergency contacts, etc., much more thorough and considerate than any hotel would offer. The apartment is decorated in a simple and contemporary fashion, with a balcony view of the beautiful city. Erica had the apartment set up with all the household necessities we would ever need, and the washer and dryer was a big help. This was the first time we have ever stayed at a serviced apartment anywhere. Erica's made us feel so much at home. It was not only hard to leave Paris, but to leave that home away from home.
What a great apartment! I’m afraid to boast about it here, because when word gets out we’ll never find availability again! We have thoroughly enjoyed living like a Parisian, and the balcony added so much pleasure to our stay. We will never stay in a hotel again! I’m going to miss our “Paris home” with its creaky wood floors, panoramic view, awesome kitchen and gorgeous natural light…not to mention the location overlooking the Musée de Cluny-awesome! I didn’t want to go home! Thank you for your exquisite and charming renovations; everything operated beautifully. A well done job. Thanks again.
We had a lovely stay at rue des Ecoles with our two sons. The beautiful apartment provided a very comfortable home for us in Paris at the end of a month-long trip. The location is excellent, but pretty quiet at night. The kitchen is well equipped, and the washer, dryer and internet access were very useful. The living room is spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating and a fabulous view. Erica was extremely helpful.
We spent 3 wonderful weeks at Rue des Ecoles. The apartment is bright, airy, and its location is ideal, whether this is your first visit to Paris or your 25th! It is packed with modern appliances and conveniences, and the manager Erica Berman is friendly, kind and available to help. We would not hesitate to rent this apartment again!
The Ecoles apartment is a traveler's dream come true! This bright airy apartment was centrally located in a wonderful, safe neighborhood filled with locals and students from the Sorbonne. Many a cup of coffee was enjoyed in the morning on the sunny balcony. At dusk, the balcony allowed us to view a sky illuminated with the neighboring roof top silhouettes. My 18 year old daughter and I spent 10 days in the apartment and we felt like true Parisians after the first day. We also appreciated the help from the proprietess who was always a phone call away for any question we had. The informative guest information book, complete with great maps, was greatly appreciated and often referenced. We would not hesitate to rent this apartment again should our travels bring us to Paris.
