This Space

This charming Provence villa is located just outside of the village of Cairanne in a beautiful and typical Provençal mas (a traditional farmhouse). Converted stables dating back to the mid-19th century make up the main house, which is surrounded by the working winery and ancillary buildings, all lying in the midst of luscious vineyards, fruit orchards, and olive groves. This gorgeous 125 acre (50 hectare) property has been family owned for over 150 years.

Just a mile from the center of the Cairanne village, this five-bedroom Provençal villa is laid out over two wings. Each wing is fully autonomous with its own kitchen and living area, and the entire villa can be easily transformed into two separate apartments. The property can be rented either as two-or three- bedroom units, or as the entire five-bedroom villa. Each unit has its private living room, fully-equipped kitchen, and dining area. Designed to sleep up to twelve guests, the Cairanne five-bedroom property proposes a comfortable and inviting space perfect for friends, families, or romantic getaways. All bedrooms offer air conditioning and a king sized bed, two of which can be split into two singles, and one of the bedrooms also has a daybed for additional sleeping space. Four bedrooms have their own private en suite half -baths and the master bedroom has an en suite full bath with shower, sink and toilet. On the ground level, the separate W.C with toilet and sink is shared.

The owners of this gorgeous, sustainable property have paid careful attention to detail as they restored the structures with an eye for balancing authenticity, comfort, and country simplicity. Traditional touches meet contemporary architecture, with large bay windows throughout the villa contributing to the luminous atmosphere.

A path at the back of the villa leads to a garden and provides access to the swimming pool: a long, discreet lap pool hidden among hundred-year-old olive trees. You can relax and cool down surrounded by Rhône Valley vineyards overlooking Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail, some of the most magical locations of the region.

About Cairanne and the region

Your Provence home is located in the 8th century settlement of Cairanne, in the heart of world renown Côtes-du-Rhône on the famous Route des Vins. For wine aficionados and serious connoisseurs, this is the perfect location; just a short drive to the regions of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Beaumes de Venise, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and many more. Wine tastings, private chef, cooking classes, and other services can be arranged at an additional cost. Looking for more activities in the area? The Provence is a magical place, with lots of places to discover, but when you stay at Sabine and Nick 's place, the magic is stronger. They are ready to help and to make your vacation a real dream. The house is beautiful, confortable and surrounded by the wineyards.Great place to discover the small towns, the wines, the lavender and the food of the region.

We cannot express to you how wonderful the house and Nick and Sabine were. What a delightful stay with not a single complaint. Only wish we could have extended the time there. It was much more than we could have hoped for. We will certainly share this location with friends and our travel agent. Thank you for quick responses and quality location with great host and hostess.

Elaine Harkins September, 2013 Danbury, CT

The apartment was beautiful and worked very well for the 10 of us. We had a wonderful time exploring the surrounding villages even though we always seemed to get lost. Vaison la Romaine was the best place to get food with the Market on Tues for fresh vegetables, fruits etc.

What a wonderful and relaxing week we spent in this gem of a place. From the moment we arrived to the day we checked out everything was flawless. We were a group of people - one family of five and three couples that are dear friends. The couples were able to stay in one half of the house and the family in the other but the set up was ideal as there was plenty of common space for all to enjoy. Nick and Sabine were wonderful hosts. This is definitely a great spot to use as a base for exploring all of the adorable little towns of northern Provence. We hope to come back again. Thank you Nick and Sabine.

Thanks for being such lovely hosts and for creating such a wonderful experience for our group. We had a relaxing and fun time exploring the cities and wineries of Provence and the Cotes du Rhone Valley. It was especially nice to retreat back to our country home to cook a nice dinner, drink some lovely French wines, and reminisce over the days and times spent together here. Thanks again!

Sally F. October, 2011 London/UK

We really loved staying here and loved having all the little villages being so close to us. We had perfect weather, food and company. We hope to be back one day soon.

A wonderful home, for a great family reunion and base to explore the wine region. My only suggestion, since we traveled from the US, we could not bring extra towels....extra towels for all the bathrooms would be so nice.

Votre domaine est tres magnifique! (Well, that's our way in French of saying how great it is here!) Our 10 days , not one the same, has given us great insight to the working vineyard life, especially at harvest time. The gite is truly something the owners to be proud of. Great space and lots of nooks and crannies. We will be back!

Rund & Helena September, 2010 USA

In this place we feel so welcome. From the very first moments our holiday started with pleasant people around. The house is fantastic, comfortable with a magnificent view of the area. Workers in the field, coming all the way from Spain, gave us a beautiful evening and a lot of fun. Thanks all.

Jean August, 2010 France

Thank you for a peaceful stay in your guest house and wine farm. We have really enjoyed our stay here and the area in general, especially impressive was Avignon. The peace and tranquility was a tonic for us all.
