Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, steps from the center of Avignon and the famous Palais des Papes, this delightful vacation apartment is the perfect spot to call home while exploring Avignon and its beautiful environs. Housed in a 16th century stone building, this former artist studio has been fully renovated with modern amenities and thoughtfully decorated with Provencale charm. Located in the same building as our Avignon Studio apartment, the two properties can be rented together to accommodate a total of 10 guests.
The airy, spacious triplex apartment offers comfortable living and dining spaces where groups can gather together, as well as cozy nooks for enjoying quiet time alone, making this vacation rental an ideal choice for friends and family traveling together. Four bedrooms, all equipped with air conditioning and painted in calming sea tones, sleep up to eight guests with six separate beds, all fitted with quality linens.
On the first floor (up one flight of stairs upon entering the property), the inviting living and dining areas provide beautiful and charming settings for lounging and enjoying meals together. One of the more formal spaces features a unique, stone wall and dramatically exposed wood beamed ceiling, together framing a grand fireplace that can be admired from the two comfortable couches or the large dining table that comfortably seats six.
Also on the first floor is a cheerful eat-in-kitchen, complete with its modern appliances, sleek cabinetry, and rustic wooden table, and that is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare full meals or light snacks with fresh finds from the nearby market (just five minutes away). The kitchen flows into a bright and informal sitting area with floor-to-ceiling windows and a small balcony with olive trees overlooking the quiet street below. Filled with beautiful plants and interesting books and pieces of art, this delightful space is ideal for enjoying morning coffee, afternoon tea, or a glass of local wine while unwinding in the comfortable armchairs or lounging on the daybed after a long day of sightseeing.
A spiral staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms on the second and third floors. On the second floor, a master bedroom with a queen-sized bed offers privacy and comfort with its en suite bathroom, equipped with a combination shower and bathtub, toilet, and sink. Also on this floor is the second bedroom - complete with a double bed and its own en suite bathroom with a walk-in rainshower, toilet, and sink - and a third bedroom with a single bed. Across the hall is a bathroom with a walk-in shower and sink, and also a toilet in its own WC.
Following the spiral staircase to the third and top floor leads to the fourth bedroom, a large space with a mansard roof. This room is ideal for children or friends traveling together, with three single mattresses set up directly on the floor, without bed frames or box springs.
If the modern amenities - from the air conditioning in the bedrooms to the Nespresso machine in the kitchen - along with the convenience of private parking and being located in the heart of the ancient city weren't enough, the beautiful decor and unique architecture make this vacation property a destination unto itself.
