About
This Space
Located below the tiny hilltop village of Bonnieux, this 18th century Provençal holiday villa rental in the heart of Peter Mayle’s famed Luberon, is the ideal Southern France getaway. It is surrounded by majestic lavender fields, fruit trees, scenic farmland, and spectacular panoramic views of the Luberon national park. This gorgeous Provence vacation home’s enviable location allows for amazing hiking, biking, and walking just outside your door.
Thoughtfully restored in 2011, this 3,767 square foot (350m2) vacation rental has expansive gardens, a charming courtyard, and a private swimming pool. The villa is perfect for friends, families, and couples traveling together, looking to spread out and enjoy French living at its best. Indoors, the warm tones of the contemporary lounge and dining room with distressed wood beams, original tiles, and thick stone walls are the perfect setting for relaxed gatherings. At the end of the living room, large French doors open onto to the summer kitchen, gardens, and pool, while the comfortable TV room awaits those interested in watching the latest English-language news or movies on a rainy day. The adjoining modern, fully-equipped kitchen has a central island, an American refrigerator with ice-maker, a Lacanche range, and two electric ovens, perfect for preparing elegant or casual meals. There is also a separate laundry room with washer, dryer, and ironing facilities.
Four large and comfortable bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are located in the main pavilion. Each bedroom is equipped with either a queen- or king-size bed, two of which can be separated into singles. The annex, accessible from the courtyard, includes two more bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and provides a convenient separate space for families or friends who wish to spend time together while maintaining privacy.
Outside, a spacious dining area and a peaceful courtyard where you can experience the simplicity and comfort of Provençal life awaits you. The outdoor dining table promises memorable moments spent lingering over meals while enjoying the bucolic five-acre property, professionally landscaped with fruit trees, local plants, and lavender fields. The property offers many private areas to unwind, read, or take an afternoon siesta.
ENJOY BONNIEUX’S CHARM
Just minutes away, Bonnieux, the adorable hillside village, is home to the Musée de la Boulangerie, where visitors can learn the art of bread making from seed planting to the artisanal production of warm crusty loaves. Nearby, you can also find many restaurants, cafés, and wineries, as well as options for daily excursions to the Luberon markets, which offer the region’s finest seasonal fruits and vegetables (meats, fish, bread, olives, tapenade, honey and conserves, herbs and spices, cheeses, flowers, oils and wines). Your holiday villa is also less than a 20-minute drive from the breathtaking villages of Goult, Menèrbes, and Lacoste. Apt and Avignon are less than 20 and 60 minutes away, respectively.

Reviews
The villa was a great place for four groups of our family to be together - it accommodated us all so well - and is certainly well appointed. Beverly was a gracious host - and found the only restaurant open for miles where we had a lovely dinner. Joelle came twice to clean - we felt very pampered! It was a magical, memorable experience - we all will remember it fondly.
This property was amazing being very well equipped with beautiful furnishing and ensuite bathrooms in all bedrooms. We loved it especially the nice touch of having beautiful Provence soaps and the housekeeper coming in 2 times during the week to keep on top of things. It was immaculate The house manager, Beverly was so easy to work with and she was very helpful guiding us and helping us with our plans. We would definitely recommend this house. Just a perfect house for 2 or 3 families or for a fun week with friends.
We loved the villa, it was utterly charming and we enjoyed every minute there. The kitchen is a marvel, well equipped with everything one would desire to prepare lovely Provencal fare. We are a bunch of foodies, so we really enjoyed this aspect, there were so many amenities that we really felt very much at home, and lacking for nothing regarding food preparation and meals. The setting is perfection, well maintained, with delightful touches, including the chandelier hanging from that amazing plane tree. The owners should be congratulated on creating a beautiful, comfortable, and utterly lovely villa.
