The beautiful Villa Abeliano, situated in the quaint village of Connaux near Uzès in Provence, is a perfect vacation retreat for a family or group of friends. It offers sweeping views of Mont Ventoux from the terrace and a lovely swimming pool in a large tree-shaded, enclosed private yard.
The spacious villa is built on a hill overlooking the valley, has three bedrooms, one bathroom with tub and shower, one bathroom with shower, a living room/dining area, and a modern kitchen.
The roomy living room has windows facing the valley and offers a large sectional couch and armchairs to comfortably accommodate 6 guests. The relaxing space is complemented with a flat screen TV and a fireplace. At the other end of the open area lined with bright windows, the dining room has a table and 6 chairs. Conveniently separated from the dining area by a counter space, the kitchen is modern and well-equipped with dishwasher, induction stove top, microwave and traditional ovens, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, etc
The three bedrooms are on the main floor and each have access to a wraparound balcony for a relaxing cup of tea/coffee facing the views in the morning. The master bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed (160 cm wide) and a flat-screen TV. The second bedroom also offers a queen-sized bed. The third bedroom boasts 2 single beds (90 cm wide each) which can be set up as a king-size bed. All beds have duvet comforters, comforter covers, pillows and sheets.
The master bathroom offers a bath tub and a separate shower stall, as well as a double sink and a toilet. The other bathroom has a shower stall. There is a shared toilet.
The swimming pool, set behing the house for perfect privacy, measures 9 x 4 meters (30 x 13 ft) and is surrounded by a grassy area with an outdoor lounge of comfortable garden furniture.
The outdoor terrace is set up with a patio table, chairs, and an electric barbecue (plancha) for these South of France grilled vegetable or fish. The villa is surrounded by a large, safely fenced-in yard covering 1500 m2 (16,000 sq/ft). It also features a covered garage and 2 additional parking spaces in the private driveway. The gate is operated by remote control.
The village of Connaux has all the essential quaint shops within walking distance: fruits and vegetable, bakery, butcher, ice cream, etc. The spectacular historical town of Uzès, with its picture perfect pedestrian old town, restaurants, shops, bars, markets, is a short 15 minutes drive through the rolling hillsides of Provence. Another 20 minutes away is Pont du Gard, the Roman aqueduct bridge built in the first century AD over the crystal-clear Gardon river which offers swimming beaches. Sports activities are largely available with rental bikes, wakesurfing, paragliding, golf, nature walks and hikes, tennis, etc.
The villa is very central: 40 minutes from Avignon, its Sumnmertime theater festival, and TGV fast train station for easy access to Paris. It is 45 minutes from Arles and its yearly, world-renown photography festival "Rencontres de la Photographie", the Roman gladiator arena and ancient theater for live music. It is also 45 minutes from the city of Nîmes with its rich Roman past and excellent food and shopping scene.
