About
This Space

This charming Provence vacation villa is located at the heart of a 50-acres (20 hectares) family-owned vineyard on the outskirts of the small but reputable village of Cairanne, one of the leading producers of the Southern Rhône Valley. This Provençale-style "mas" (a traditional farmhouse) is the perfect short-term rental for your stay in Southern France. The converted stables dating from the mid-19th century make up the main house. This is bordered by the old winery and ancillary buildings, all lying in the midst of luscious vineyards, fruit orchards, and olive groves.

Just a mile from the center of the village of Cairanne, this five-bedroom Provençal villa comprises two wings and is designed to sleep up to 10 guests. The Cairanne five-bedroom property proposes a comfortable and inviting space, perfect for friends, families, or romantic getaways. All bedrooms offer air conditioning and a king-sized bed that can be split into two singles. Two of the bedrooms also have a daybed for additional sleeping space (at extra cost). Four of the bedrooms have their own private en suite half-baths and the master bedroom has an en suite full bath with shower, sink and toilet. On the ground level, each wing has its own living room, fully equipped kitchen, and dining area.

The owners of this gorgeous, sustainable property have paid careful attention to detail. Assisted by an interior architect when restoring the stables, they had an eye for balancing authenticity, comfort, and country simplicity. Traditional touches meet contemporary architecture, with large bay windows throughout the villa, which contribute to the luminous atmosphere.

A path leading from the central courtyard gives access to the gardens and to the swimming-pool: a long, discreet lap pool hidden among hundred-year-old olive trees. You can relax and cool down surrounded by Rhône Valley vineyards, overlooking Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail - some of the most magical locations of the region.

Your hosts, Nick and Sabine - both passionate about Provence history, tradition, food, and wine culture - will be delighted to welcome you and are able to propose rich experiences, both at the villa and throughout the region. As well as private wine tours that Nick organizes for the villa (for an additional fee), he can also guide you to discover premium quality wines from the world-renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Sabine, a Provence native who loves cooking local Provençal food, is available and happy to cook for you during your stay. (Please inquire for more details.) Cooking classes with a private chef can also be arranged in your villa.

About Cairanne and the region
Your Provence home is located in the 8th century settlement of Cairanne, a Cru Classé village in the heart of the world-renowned Côtes-du-Rhône region, on the famous Route des Vins. The small village sits on a hill with a view southwards overlooking the vineyard plains. For wine aficionados and serious connoisseurs, this is the perfect location; just a short drive to the regions of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and many more.

A beautiful property that has all the wonderful facilities you need for a fabulous stay. Big bedrooms, great kitchen and the pool and alfresco area are excellent. Sabine and Nick are lovely and accommodating hosts. Highly recommend.

We loved the home and property in Cairanne. Haven In was easy to work with, and our hosts Nick and Sabine were fantastic (their wine is also excellent). The home was exactly as pictured online, but the grounds far exceeded our expectations. The pool is picturesque, and the courtyard and outdoor space were wonderful. We spent majority of our time at the house enjoying long meals outdoor on the patio. We would rent this house again -- it was the perfect size for our group of 8.

The Provence is a magical place, with lots of places to discover, but when you stay at Sabine and Nick 's place, the magic is stronger. They are ready to help and to make your vacation a real dream. The house is beautiful, confortable and surrounded by the wineyards.Great place to discover the small towns, the wines, the lavender and the food of the region.

We cannot express to you how wonderful the house and Nick and Sabine were. What a delightful stay with not a single complaint. Only wish we could have extended the time there. It was much more than we could have hoped for. We will certainly share this location with friends and our travel agent. Thank you for quick responses and quality location with great host and hostess.

The apartment was beautiful and worked very well for the 10 of us. We had a wonderful time exploring the surrounding villages even though we always seemed to get lost. Vaison la Romaine was the best place to get food with the Market on Tues for fresh vegetables, fruits etc.

What a wonderful and relaxing week we spent in this gem of a place. From the moment we arrived to the day we checked out everything was flawless. We were a group of people - one family of five and three couples that are dear friends. The couples were able to stay in one half of the house and the family in the other but the set up was ideal as there was plenty of common space for all to enjoy. Nick and Sabine were wonderful hosts. This is definitely a great spot to use as a base for exploring all of the adorable little towns of northern Provence. We hope to come back again. Thank you Nick and Sabine.

Thanks for being such lovely hosts and for creating such a wonderful experience for our group. We had a relaxing and fun time exploring the cities and wineries of Provence and the Cotes du Rhone Valley. It was especially nice to retreat back to our country home to cook a nice dinner, drink some lovely French wines, and reminisce over the days and times spent together here. Thanks again!

We really loved staying here and loved having all the little villages being so close to us. We had perfect weather, food and company. We hope to be back one day soon.

A wonderful home, for a great family reunion and base to explore the wine region. My only suggestion, since we traveled from the US, we could not bring extra towels....extra towels for all the bathrooms would be so nice.

Votre domaine est tres magnifique! (Well, that's our way in French of saying how great it is here!) Our 10 days , not one the same, has given us great insight to the working vineyard life, especially at harvest time. The gite is truly something the owners to be proud of. Great space and lots of nooks and crannies. We will be back!

Rund & Helena September, 2010 USA

In this place we feel so welcome. From the very first moments our holiday started with pleasant people around. The house is fantastic, comfortable with a magnificent view of the area. Workers in the field, coming all the way from Spain, gave us a beautiful evening and a lot of fun. Thanks all.

Thank you for a peaceful stay in your guest house and wine farm. We have really enjoyed our stay here and the area in general, especially impressive was Avignon. The peace and tranquility was a tonic for us all.
