Picasso GardenBack to Paris
The Picasso Garden is a unique one-bedroom, one-bathroom vacation apartment located in a 17th-century hôtel particulier in the heart of the Marais district. Overlooking trees and cobblestones in the building's courtyard as well as beautiful gardens across the street, this lovely property is a haven of tranquility in the heart of Paris, perfect for couples or small families in this gay-friendly neighborhood. The Picasso Garden is situated not only among notable sites and museums (Musée Picasso, Maison Victor Hugo, Musée Carnavalet, Centre Pompidou, etc.), but also near many charming boutiques, cafés, and fabulous fresh food markets.
This inviting Paris rental designed and renovated by its Parisian architect owners features hardwood floors and a large main space, similar to a loft in that it is both a living room and bedroom. It can be divided at night by a thick, silk curtain, creating a sense of both privacy and coziness. During the day, you can leave the curtain drawn back to reveal a large, streamlined room, with beautiful windows letting in sunlight and views. At one end, closer to the entrance, is a queen-sized bed placed over Japanese style bamboo matting, and at the other end is the living room and dining space, with a dining table and sofa that also folds out to become a comfortable queen bed, for additional sleeping space. Window seats overlook the beautiful gardens across the way.
The separate, up-to-date kitchen is fully equipped for enjoying the culinary delights of Paris. There is a gas stove, modern appliances, and plenty of counter space. The modern design bathroom has a large Italian-style walk-in shower with a shower bench and elaborate tiling and a separate W.C. (connected to the main bathroom).
This contemporary space provides all of the comfort and style of a boutique hotel and is the perfect chez vous after a day spent wandering the streets of Paris. As this Paris flat is in the heart of the Marais, a district known to house a large gay and Jewish community along with fashion aficionados, young couples, families, and people in the art world, it is the perfect home base for just about anyone who wants to spend their vacation in comfort and style.

Covering Paris’ central 3rd and 4th arrondissements, the Marais is the oldest neighborhood in the city, where medieval roads and architecture now contain designer boutiques, intimate museums, hip cafés, and hidden gardens. Just down the street from the Hôtel de Ville city hall, the Pompidou museum exhibits a wonderful range of modern art on four, expansive floors. In the center of the Marais, thanks to its historic Jewish heritage, you’ll find take-away and sit-down falafel restaurants and delis aplenty, including the world-famous L’As du Falafel, the newer Miznon, and ever-popular Sacha Finkelsztajn deli. Pick up a sweet treat from Pierre Hermé, Café Pouchkine, or L’Éclair de Génie and enjoy it in the calm sunshine of Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris, or escape the crowds at the hidden Rosiers-Joseph Migneret garden. History buffs will appreciate the Musée Carnavalet, a history museum dedicated to the city of Paris, as well as the fascinating Musée des Archives, both troves of rare documents and artifacts. The recently renovated Picasso museum and the hunting museum, Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, are fantastic options as well. Head towards metro St-Paul to rummage through the most unique antique and vintage shops in the area. Much of the Marais’ popular and varied nightlife scene caters to Paris’ gay population, but there is undoubtedly something to please everyone. The North Marais, toward Place de la République, is where you’ll find the delicious marché des Enfants Rouge and nearby cultural event center, Carreau du Temple, surrounded by a number of Paris’ trendiest cafés and clandestine cocktail bars.

We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and the Marais. Justine was gracious and professional. We used Sayshuttle car service from the airport and were very satisfied.
This was our second time staying in the apartment. Everything was just as easy and enjoyable as our first stay. It is a charming, clean and very functional space. I'm sure we'll be renting with HIP again soon!
The Picasso Garden was located on a side street in the Marais District in Paris. There was a quiet very private courtyard. The apartment was on the third floor (second in France). The living room and bedroom had large windows that opened onto the courtyard and street. Lovely art on the walls, great collection of books on France. Large kitchen with gas stove and all the conveniences needed to cook a meal if desired. Very modern bathroom with walk-in tiled shower. This was a very quiet place and a pleasure to return to after a long day of touring in Paris. Not to forget the very complete music collection for the stereo. Haven in Paris treated us very well, always concerned about having everything work well for us at the apartment.
Our stay at Picasso Garden was absolute perfection, from beginning to end. Everyone on the HIP team was professional, organized, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. I can't imagine visiting Paris in the future without HIP!
We were very happy with our stay at PIcasso Garden. The location is ideal as a base for getting to all of the major attractions. We will have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends. Yann our greeter was very helpful. He gave us some restaurant recommendations which we followed and were very pleased with the meals, particularly at Le Villaret
The Picasso Garden apartment is truly charming. Situated on a quiet street in Le Marais, with its building covered in bright green ivy, staying there feels like a trip to the French countryside. Yet around the corner are all the bustling shops and cafes Le Marais has to offer. The apartment is very thoughtfully organized. I was worried it would be cramped, but my husband and I thought it felt surprisingly spacious. Everything we needed was provided and we would definitely choose to stay there again. One potential drawback - the bed is low to the ground. Due to this and two small stairs to the toilet, I would not recommend this apartment for anyone with physical limitations. Also the TV faces the bed area only (not the living room). It wasn't an issue for us but might be for anyone enjoying a longer stay. We will surely rent again with HIP after three great stays with them. Thanks to the team for making it so wonderful!
Our Greeter, Yann was very helpful, organised and friendly and he helped us select and book some wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was very quiet, well equipment, very comfortable and close to great shops, cafes and Musee Picasso. We would happily stay at the apartment the next time we visit Paris.
Right at the outset I should say that the stay was excellent and better than expected. The apartment is well designed for rentals, and has all the facilities one needs for a short or long stay, including a comfortable living room, bedroom which can be curtained off but otherwise left open, an excellent kitchen, good bathroom, washer and dryer. The architectural standard is very high. We were very impressed by the thoughtfulness that had gone into all of the facilities and the extras which we had not expected, such as coffee and condiments and a full range of kitchen implements, as well as a bottle of wine. Although we didn't need it, the availability of an Apple computer and telephone was also good. Also, the information booklet provided was extremely helpful and prepared with thought as to what a guest might need. The cleanliness was also excellent, and the location and access were perfect. Justine who was our greeter, did a good job. She was friendly, spoke good English, was on time for check-in and check-out and was knowledgeable and helpful in showing us the various facilities in the apartment. On check-out she also ordered a taxi for us, which arrived very promptly. We found the flat very clean and easy to move into without having to do any cleaning ourselves.
The apartment lived up to its billing: comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, large living-dining room overlooking traditional courtyard. We would rent it again. And we could not have asked for a better location for walking, shopping, museum-ing than the Picasso Garden apartment. We also used the Metro and buses, which were nearby. Recommend a little restaurant we found nearby: l'epouvantail at 6, rue de Jarente, 01-40-29-03-03. If you arrive on the early side, no reservations necessary.
We loved the apartment and couldn't have asked for more. It was beyond our expectations and the pictures were truly reflective of the reality. No surprises... We loved the neighborhood, the shops, the restaurants, the people... We can't wait to try another Haven in Paris location! Manon and Louis, Montréal
Our desire to stay in an apartment in Le Marais and live like Parisians for 9 days was fulfilled by our stay in the Picasso Garden apartment. We loved the location of the apartment and its simple, elegant, comfortable style. We immediately felt at home when we stepped through the door--it was everything we hoped for and more. The bed was extremely comfortable, even though it sits quite low to the ground, which may be a problem for elderly people but it wasn't for us. The bathroom and in particular the shower was excellent! I know that showers vary greatly throughout the world but this one has plenty of water pressure and is quite large. I loved the large windows looking down onto a courtyard-we opened them occasionally to feel the fresh air outdoors. You can hear a little traffic from the neighborhood outside, but it's very quiet at night. One of my priorities was to have a quiet, restful place and Picasso Garden delivered. The kitchen was well appointed, but in reality we didn't use it much except to have some wine and cheese and croissants on occasion. We really took advantage of all the restaurants and bistros which are so close and plentiful. My only complaint is that the coffee maker is rather ordinary. A more modern coffee maker would be a great addition. I would highly recommend a stay at Picasso Garden. We were very pleased with the apartment and would rent it again in a heartbeat.
This apartment was absolutely fabulous. It is on a block away from restaurants and noise so it is divinely quiet and comfortable. Yet the location to all that the Marais has to offer is perfect. The shower and kitchen are the best of any apartment that I have rented in Paris and I have rented for 10 years going to Paris 3 times a year. It is also very spacious which is unusual for Paris. The owner's recommendations for restaurants and food shopping are right on. I also enjoyed their lovely collection of jazz cd's. The kitchen is beautifully stocked and the appliances made cooking a joy. It is an exceptionally well designed, well equipped and well located apartment for Paris. I also found that working with Haven in Paris was one of the most professional experiences that I have enjoyed in renting apartments over the years.
We really loved the apartment - the size, the decor, the warm vibe, the 17th century building --- we would stay here again in a heartbeat. And the Marais is a new neighbourhood for us and we loved it. Our greeter was professional and available. The cleaning also completely met our standards.
We had never been to Paris and were uncertain how renting an apartment--away from the immediate assistance of a hotel desk--would work for us. Well, no worries. We loved the Picasso Garden apartment. It was spacious, sunny, pleasant, and just wonderful. The location was good for us. I felt like we were in a small village and all was walkable. The chair was great for reading and the bed comfortable. The stairs were not difficult for us and we are not young. We found favorite neighborhood restaurants. The booklet supplied by HIP was helpful; WIFI which is my life line, worked perfectly. We will return and will recommend. It was a beautiful stay. Metro short walk away. All worked perfectly and we had a memorable memorable trip. Honestly, we loved everything. THANK YOU! Christine
We have arrived back in Australia afterwhat was truly a wonderful honeymoon. It started wonderfully with our stay in Paris which we loved entirley. It was made all the more special by our choice of apartment and its wonderful location. We would and have already been recommending Haven in Paris to our friends. We feel so lucky that we found somewhere to stay that was authentic, ideally located, beautifully presented and provided us with ample room to enjoy our stay. So impressed were we that we even have thoughts of wanting to own something in Paris just like it and maybe make Paris our holiday of the year every year. The location was a tremendous asset. Le Marais was truly an experience beyond our expectations. The feeling of being part of the neighbourhood, the friendliness of the locals and the proximity to all else that is attractive about Pais was great. What a magnificent start to our holiday.
My husband and I were delighted with the apartment (which we stayed in for 2 separate stints during our time in Paris this time). The location of the apartment is excellent - 30 meters from Rue Francs Bourgoise, one of our favourite streets in Paris! And an easy walk to the metro station in Bvrd St Antoine which worked for all the times we needed the metro. The street itself is a nice quiet street as well. The Richard Lenoir food market is also an easy walk and the kitchen is pretty well set up for cooking all that gorgeous produce. The apartment itself is really well set up and the space worked perfectly for us for our stay. We could imagine how lovely the spot would be in the warmer months as well with the courtyard below and all the windows open. We could see the low bed being problem for older visitors but just fine for us and very comfortable. Justine and Cesar - our greeters on the 2 separate occasions - were very helpful and in particular, Justine went through all the necessary details. Both offered and did call us a taxi on our departure. We love staying in Haven in Paris apartments because of the consistent quality of the apartments and the whole greeting process. As well as Picasso Garden, we've stayed in the Rosiers apartment and the one near the market street in St Germaine - all have been terrific and Roger (our greeter last time) was also terrific! We travel to Paris in January each year for Maison Objet so will be back next year - hopefully through Haven again provided there is availability!
Thank you again for a truly memorable stay at the Picasso Garden. The apartment was beautifully laid out with every amenity that we needed! We made good use of the kitchen and cooked dinner one night! The area is truly lovely ... We loved walking around and discovering cafés and boutiques just steps away from the apartment. I suspect that this place will be even lovelier in the spring and cannot wait to be back!
Thanks to Haven in Paris and the Picasso Garden apartment, we had a magical Christmas vacation in Paris. All of our dealings with Haven in Paris were flawless including the reservation and payment process, the greeter at the apartment, and the driver recommended by HIP. The apartment was perfect for me, my husband and two daughters. The bathroom was even large enough for two teenage girls. It has a modern interior and was well stocked with everything we needed, yet was in an beautiful old building with a lovey courtyard. The location of the apartment was better than we could have imagined. Close enough to walk to the Seine, Notre Dame, St. Germain and the Latin Quarter. However, the best part about the neighborhood was that it was away from the tourist crowds. After a week, we started to feel more like Parisians than tourists. There was something to do outside our door every night with the boutique shops, cafes and bakeries. It was such a joy to come home to our apartment and our "neighborhood" each evening. We have been home just two days and we miss it already.
We loved our stay at the apartment. It was a beautiful spot - totally reflective of info and pictures we had considered when making the decision ( i.e. no surprises!). Loved the furnishings, the design, the overall serenity created by all combined. The location was excellent, too. A wonderful oasis in the midst of busy exciting paris! Our dealings with all of you were professional and prompt. This made for a very efficient set of transactions.
We loved the location in the Marais.
The Picasso Garden apartment was a joy - very comfortable, classically elegant with all the services you need. The Marais district is a joy, with lots of quirky shops, great places to eat and some wonderful museums to visit. While a short metro ride from any of the major sites, it is still out of the way enough to be a peaceful place to rest at the end of the day. We thoroughlky enjoyed our stay and recommend it highly.
I have been to Paris 4 times in 3 years, and have been dying to stay in this apartment each time. I was so excited that I worried I would be let down when I finally arrived. The apartment was just as I imagined and staying there was truly a Paris dream. My boyfriend lives on the Ile St. Louis and the plan was that he would spend some time with me, but I wanted to have some "me time" to relax away from my busy NYC life. I could hardly get rid of him, and it had nothing to do with me...he just loved the apartment! The location was perfect for walking everywhere. HIP is also the only agency I know of that has free cell AND land line calls to the US. The apt. was clean, very well stocked (e.g. kitchen supplies, Paris info, CDs, movies, towels, etc.), lovely, peaceful, and had a magical quality to it. Everyday we carved out time to sit in the beautiful courtyard to chat and/or eat. Lastly, the greeter, Justine, was lovely. My time in the apartment will always be a beautiful memory and I hope to stay there again sometime in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. It really was perfect for our needs and we loved the specific location. Our greeter on arrival (Justine) was terrific. She was very thorough in explaining how everything in the apartment worked as well as answering some questions we had. We had a different person upon departure because Justine was off the day we left. He was a charming guy, helped get our luggage downstairs (rather a schlep) and waited until our taxi arrived. We used the service suggested in your book and they were perfectly on time.
Wonderful apartment, brilliant and easy communication with extremely helpful and cheerfully pleasant company. The apartment is located in the centre of the Marais and extremely quiet. Very easy to find quality shopping and restaurants nearby. Justine who greeted us was lovely explaining everything and answering all questions, as well as being available by email and phone Best experience I have had ever for renting apartments in Paris and I have been many times!
I was looking to take my Mom to Paris for her 65th birthday present for a girls weekend and I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted a central apartment, that was within walking distance to most things, in a non-touristy part of town, and something that would give her a real Paris experience. As well as something that was quiet and relaxing when we returned after a day of walking. The Paris apartment was perfect for all of this and MORE! My Mom loved it and couldn't stop raving about the great place we were staying, and how comfortable she felt. The apartment has nice big French windows with lots of light, a well designed space and is in a great neighborhood. Mom loved all of it, and along with the impeccable service and cleanliness she was in heaven. I would highly recommend the Picasso apartment to anyone going to Paris.
The Picasso Garden apartment was quite spacious by Paris standards. It was really well equipped, clean and cheery. The position in the Marais was just perfect and there were plenty of lovely coffee shops, restaurants and shops within close proximity. We were very happy with our greeter Justine. She was really lovely and helpful. She came on time and was very efficient.
As repeat clients of HIP, we always feel that when we stay in one of their apartments it is like our own apartment. The Picasso Garden apartment is particularly wonderful due to its design and comfort, its well-appointed kitchen, WiFi, free international calling, and location. I would only state that, although it is extremely comfortable, the bed is very low to the floor and may be difficult for some people. We will probably plan our next visit to Paris based on the availability of this apartment, just as we did on this recent visit.
Wonderfully located on a quiet side street in the heart of it all - great for a couple or single person visiting Paris and wanting to feel like a Parisian in an amazing location!
We recently had a wonderful week at the Picasso Gardens property. The flat was well equipped and it is in an amazing location. A must stay apartment in Paris!
We spent 5 weeks traveling through Europe, including accommodation in very nice hotels, and the Picasso Garden apartment offered us a new travel experience. It was certainly a highlight of the trip. The apartment was much bigger than we had expected. By the end of 12 nights we almost felt like locals of the Marais. Haven in Paris staff were always accessible. Regrettably the clothes dryer didn't work but that was only a minor inconvenience. Thank you. Note from HIP: The dryer has been repaired.
The apartment was AMAZING, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else if we were to come again. Justine was our greeter and she was very sweet and helpful. We had a great stay.
The apartment was absolutely perfect, and located perfect as well. The reservation process was quick and easy. Couldn't have had a better experience. We will be back!!!
The apartment was just as adverised in the photos on the website. Beautiful neighborhood and lovely building; very centrally located to get to lots of tourist attractions and wonderful restaurants nearby. The property is very well maintained and has up to date amenities including computer and wifi. The greeter was especailly friendly and helpful. So much better than a hotel... We will definitely be back and will use HIP services again
We wanted to rent an apartment so that we could self-cater (using the excellent local resources available!), keep our own hours, and stay in a less touristy neighbourhood. What a pleasure it was to stay here for our ten days in Paris! One of us is an architect, the other an avid cook; the apartment more than satisfied both. It is elegant, quiet, very clean, great appliances, and the neighbours are extremely pleasant; it was near to popular neighbourhood bistrots and cafes and excellent shops as well as to the Metro line; it was a beautiful and well-sized walk to most places we wanted to go. In short, it was beyond our expectations in all ways. Your firm was a pleasure to deal with: clear, courteous and quick to respond. I have already recommended your website and listings to our friends, who go to Paris often. We ourselves hope to be back.
I am writing to let you all know that staying at Picasso Gardens was a delight. Charming and peaceful, this property is in the perfect Marais location near the metro as well as the northern Marais shopping and restaurants. We loved the spacious, well-designed kitchen and enjoyed the enormous shower with a porthole into the kitchen. We deeply appreciated the Parisian sunlight streaming through the four large windows with views of the courtyard garden, rooftops and the Musée Cognacq-Jay. Justine was lovely.
This was the third time I have stayed at this apartment in the past couple of years. It has started to feel like a home-away-from-home for me. The apartment is a very stylish space in the heart of the most beautiful part of the Marais which is, in turn, to my mind, the most charming part of Paris. There is something absolutely delightful about staying in a place that feels like "yours": whether it be returning home with a still-warm baguette (try Pain de Sucre at 14 rue Rambuteau) and cheese (hard to go past the vieux comté from 13 rue Rambuteau), or a bottle of Bourgogne that has been recommended by Alex at the Cave Elzévir (16 rue Elzévir) For coffee - the real stuff (very important for visiting Australians) - don't miss Terres de Café at 14 rue Rambuteau. As for the apartment, it has a real "wow" factor. It is very comfortable. The highlights for me are the views both onto the street and the courtyard, the fully functional kitchen, the enormous walk-in shower, and the overall sense of light and space that comes from being in a 16th century hôtel particulier. As always, upon departing, I found myself wondering just how soon I can justify a return visit...
My husband and I just returned from Paris where we celebrated our ten year anniversary. The Picasso Garden apartment couldn't have been more perfect for the occasion. We had originally booked a hotel, but I felt like I needed more space and less of a touristy experience. Renting an apartment in the Marais was the best vacation decision I've ever made. It was right in the middle of the action, yet on a quiet, charming side street. I could've spent the entire week exploring the Marais, but alas there were museums and churches to see. The apartment itself was very well appointed with nice kitchenware, lots of fluffy towels, books on Paris (in case you don't get around to advance planning), and a supply of very good coffee and tea. I only wished there was some milk on hand, as I arrived early morning and needed coffee. But there were fresh flowers and a bottle of wine, so I could hardly complain. Perumal greeted us, showed us around the apartment and helped us get connected to the wireless network. He was very professional and efficient; just what we needed after a long night of travel. We hired David (taxi service referred on the HIP website) to take us to and from the airport. He was waiting for us as we exited customs, took our bags and gave us a very nice intro to the City. He sent a friend to pick us up for the return trip, who was equally professional. In general, the communication with HIP was very good and consistent through the whole process. I always felt like I was dealing with real professionals. I just wish we could've stayed another week.
I was so lucky to stumble upon Haven in Paris. The staff was easy to make arrangements with and provided all the useful information we could have asked for. The Picasso Garden apartment exceeded our expectations. The building was beautiful and could not have been in a better location. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. Shopping, great restaurants and beautiful sites consume this neighborhood. All my future stays in Paris will be through Haven in Paris. Thank you for the perfect experience!
The apartment was excellent and the location was just perfect. Our greeter was friendly, helpful and relaxed....ideal for a holiday experience.
This is the first time that we have booked through Haven in Paris. I was very impressed with the professional & efficient approach of Erica and her team. We had a fabulous week staying in the Picasso Garden apartment. The location was perfect - overlooking both a gorgeous courtyard and a quiet street in the middle of the bustling Marais. The apartment was clean, spacious and beautifully appointed. Our greeter, Perumal, was friendly, helpful and punctual. We look forward to returning in the future.
I thought the greeter was very professional. The whole experience was fantastic. The appartment lovely and well designed. I was alone so felt very safe the security seemed very good. Only thing was the bathroom sink did not drain very well was a little sluggish and the toilet a little smelly. Also the cable is faulty and it freezes every 40 mins it needs to be fixed. These are minor things had a great time overall. Thanks for a great experience. I would stay there again. Note from HIP: We are working to fix the drain. The cable has been fixed.
We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and our stay in Paris. The place was amazing, both in terms of location and setup. Our greeter Perumal couldn't have been more helpful - he managed to check us in earlier than scheduled due to our early arrival and responded promptly when our cordless phone broke during our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the place and would definitely use your service again when we visit Paris next. Thank you again.
I was extremely impressed at how well equipped the apartment was, and how kind and thoughtful Perumal (our greeter) was to us. He even walked me to the Avis car rental at Hotel de Ville after checkout to make sure I found it. He went well beyond the call of duty, and was a big reason why our stay was so enjoyable. I've already recommended Haven in Paris to my parents, who in the past have rented apartments in Paris from other companies with mixed success. And I plan to recommend you to anyone else who's planning a trip to Paris or Tuscany!
Thank you. The apartment was great. Perfect for our family. Loved, especially, the location, the modern design of the apartment, and the extras -- nice kitchen, spacious bathroom, iMac, great windows, helpful guide books. Greeter was right on time, very knowledgeable and professional. All excellent. Thanks again.
We're packing up to leave tomorrow morning, and we wanted to thank you all for a wonderful stay. We have had a really lovely time in the Marais with our two sons. We've mostly just been strolling the streets, flaneur style, enjoying Paris Plage, the museums, and the street life. We spent a day at the Louvre doing a treasure hunt with Paris Muse, which was great for the boys, and just today went to the Military Museum. Above all, we have so enjoyed the peace and tranquility (and excellent design!) of the apartment, which has allowed us to feel so at home here. We've already recommended it to several of our friends. So thanks again, we will be sorry to leave tomorrow, but hope to return soon.
We had a great stay in Paris, at Picasso Garden. It's a terrific location. The greeter was fine - very friendly and informative. Perumal (the greeter) is a nice, young man.
We loved the Picasso Garden property. Loved it. I had prepared myself in case it was smaller than I imagined and was so pleasantly surprised to find it LARGER. It is a beautiful flat and the architect's details in the open plan, the kitchen with the strategic lighting, hidden fridge and window to the stairwell, the bathroom portholes, were very much noted and appreciated. We fell in love with the courtyard garden that the windows looked out into. So very charming and so hidden Paris. And while we were already familiar with the Marais as close friends had a flat on Rue Barbette where we stayed a few times, the best part of the trip was feeling as if we lived in Paris in the absolutely best spot. We made it a challenge to discover the best Boulanger in the area and while HIP's recommendations were good, we think we found an even better baguette on the Rue Turenne. Our last night, which happened to be my birthday, we had a perfect meal at nearby Camille restaurant. We would rent the property again without question. Excellent location, beautifully appointed and so user friendly. Would highly recommend to a couple with a small child. Our five-year old loved it. My only recommendation to improve the stay at this property would be a more comfortable and roomier couch! The existing couch -- which converts to a roomy, yet too firm bed (hard to sleep on for us who prefer medium firmness and memory foam) -- is not very inviting especially when friends came over. We found ourselves left with only one recourse-- the bed which was low and not our preferred way to sit! The bed was also a bit too firm for us to sleep on but we got used to it by the end of the week. A pillow top would help! Our favorite spot: the small table in the beautiful kitchen where we had our p'tit dej every day. Our greeter, Perumal, was very helpful, courteous and professional. He was there before we arrived and everything was in perfect order. He was easy to contact and when we did was quite helpful. The taxi driver from Andy's that picked us up at the airport was friendly and helpful. We thought we had scheduled a pickup to return to the airport but they never showed up so we took a taxi upon Perumal's recommendation and got there in a half hour for half the price! I would and have already recommended Haven in Paris to everyone I know. You exceeded our expectations. Your blog is superb and incredibly helpful. Note from Haven in Paris: Thank you for this insightful feedback on the couch and bed. We will be discussing with the owners.
We absolutely loved the Picasso Garden apartment and would very happily return again if we can. The property was in very good condition and everything worked as it should. It was clean and tidy with good supplies of essentials such as loo paper etc and lots of towels. A big plus! Our greeter was Perumal we were happy with the info Perumal provided. He was on time to meet us at the apartment and responded to emails when we wanted some advice regarding getting to the main train station when we ere leaving Paris. We have shown our friends and family the website of the apartment and our photos and all have been impressed. It really is a great property in a wonderful location. Really, we wouldn't change a thing. The apartment looked exactly as it did on the website and I really liked that as there is nothing worse then being being let down on arrival. It really was perfect! We also want to compliment the team at Haven in Paris for keeping the communication going so well before we arrived. It really made the whole process easier. We would have no hesitation at all in booking again with Haven in Paris.
from reservation to check-in Haven in Paris is a very organized and efficient company. the flat in Paris was incredible. it was the perfect spot for our family vacation.
The Picasso Garden apartment is an ideal base for a stay in Paris. It is centrally located in the best area of the best arrondissement, yet it is very peaceful and quiet inside the apartment. Picasso Garden has hardly any vehicular traffic, since most cars take the parallel streets rue Pave or old Temple. And we barely heard a peep through the walls during our nine-day stay. Inside, the apartment is flooded with light from enormous windows overlooking the gardens of the museum across the street. It is up two quick flights of stairs from a charming courtyard. I've rented Paris apartments where you had to walk a block back into the building to get to your staircase, but not here at the Picasso Garden apartment. From the front door lockset to the kitchen appliances to the bathroom fixtures, everything is absolutely top quality in this apartment. And the staff at Haven in Paris couldn't make renting easier or inspire more confidence in advance of your arrival that the rental will go smoothly. There is one problem with the Picasso Garden apartment -- like us, you may not want to leave.
I did want to let you know we so enjoyed the apartment and neighborhood, we plan on returning next year. You all were great in staying in touch before, during and after our visit and got back to me immediately with any questions. The greeter was wonderful and so willing to work with our schedule. The apartment felt spacious, yet cozy and we loved the view of the courtyard with its vines edging their way up the sides of the building. Great area to stay in with its lovely cafes, unique shops and museums.
Perumal, who greeted us, was very personable and helpful. His communications before our trip were always polite and professional. Andy's taxi service met us at the airport without a problem, but was stuck in traffic on our departure date. However, they did arrange for another service to take us to the airport, so that worked out well. Sasha (the concierge we used) got us great seats for the ballet and all interaction with her was a pleasure. We had no issues with the flat being clean and tidy. Whoever took care of that did a very nice job.
We stayed at the Picasso Garden property for 10 days. The apartment was exactly as described/pictured. It was well stocked with all the necessary amenities and very comfortable. HIP was very easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions. We will highly recommend the agency and the apartment!
We loved the apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Thanks again for your considerate assistance in providing us a delightful place to stay.
Great Location of the property which we found exactly as on the website pictures ... quiet area in a hot spot in Paris and service on site by HiP was just perfect! Honestly, could not ask for anything more on a relaxing vacation in Paris! My wife and I enjoyed it all the way and so did our two kids! Highly recommended!
We found this apartment just perfect for us in every way—it was exactly as described/photographed on the website, and the location could not have been better. The Marais neighborhood (and this quiet street/courtyard in particular), we were told by Parisian friends, are the epitome of where a chic Parisian would want to live! The apartment itself was thoughtfully designed, and simply, beautifully put together. It really did wind up feeling like a home away from home for us in a way no other place has. We will definitely travel this way again, through Haven in Paris. The lovely photos of the apartment that we took and have shared with friends, as well as our glowing recommendation of Haven in Paris service in general, have resulted in many requests by our friends for links to your website, which we are only too glad to provide!
The apt in the Marais was terrific in all aspects. It was spacious, well-equipped and well-located. We felt more like locals than tourists and look forward to renting again.
From the first contact through our stay in Paris in June, the HIP team was professional, responsive and willing to answer all the questions we had. We are so happy we chose Haven in Paris to help us. Although this was not our first trip to Paris it was renting an apartment and we are so glad we stayed in one of your apartments. Andy picked the four of us up at CDG and made the trip into Marais fun. Yann met us at the apartment and made us feel welcome. We loved our location and the luxury of being in such a wonderful apartment. It was everything the photos showed and more. We can't wait to make plans to return. Thank you.
An extremely friendly and easy reservation process. A perfectly located property, clean, nice and special. We felt at home from the very first minute.
The Picasso Garden apartment was a hip, modern, smartly designed apartment. Plenty of space for parents and a kid -- the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable and exceeded our expectations. The open shower was fun. Amazing location with great restaurants, shopping, and museums just steps from the front door. Particularly loved Restaurant Camille at the end of the block.
My husband and i really enjoyed the stay at the apartment. we have been renting apartments in Paris for years, and HIP is by far the best. The service was top notch and the amenities at the place were amazing. Everything was so comfortable and clean, and interior was modern and well designed. It was mid January, but the place had excellent heating system that we could control to make it toasty whenever we wanted which is very rare in old Paris buildings. We loved the big windows looking out to the garden of a museum next door that had outdoor sculpture on display during our stay. We love the neighborhood since it's close to all the best of Paris as well as it being on a super cute, quiet street. It made us feel like Parisian not just visitors. We will definitely stay at the place again, and we already recommended the site to many friends!
My husband and I have been renting flats with Haven in Paris for the past two years. We first stayed in the des Abbesses flat, which we loved. Last year we decided to stay in the Marais and rented the Picasso Garden flat. We loved the flat and the neighborhood so much we decided to stay there again this year. The flat is beautifully designed, well equipped, and (since we were there in December) well heated. We hope to stay there again next year because we now have some friends among the cafe and store owners in the neighborhood. Must also note we had Andy, the British driver, pick us up and take us to the airport--he was prompt, helpful, and lots of fun.
This flat was very comfortable, quiet, beautifully appointed, and wonderfully located within the most pleasant part of the Marais. We look forward to staying at it many times in the future.
We chose Haven in Paris as our accommodations for our December honeymoon. Everyone was so helpful when we had questions about the booking process. It couldn't have been easier. From the moment our greeter met us at the apartment everything was perfect. The apartment was even more gorgeous in person than in the photos. We didn't want to leave, it started to feel like we really lived there! The neighborhood was charming, especially around the Christmas season. I have already recommended Haven in Paris so friends and family. We are looking forward to using your services again. Thank you so much!
I had another great stay at the Picasso Garden apartment. Everything was perfect. Yann is a great greeter. The apartment is ideally located and stylishly fitted out. I felt like a real Parisian.
We had a wonderful time in Paris and enjoyed the location and amenities of the Picasso Garden apartment. Yann was very timely in greeting us. Yann did a great job of showing us how to use the appliances, TV, computer etc. Thanks for the wine and flowers. Some people might find the arrangement of the sleeping area being separated from the living room area by only a drape to be a negative, but we didn't mind it at all. In fact we were impressed how the owners creatively used the apartment's space to provide storage living area, etc. We liked the high ceilings and all the windows overlooking the courtyard and street. It's a clever design even if a bit small by USA standards and the location was ideal. Thanks for helping make a wonderful vacation experience.
The apartment was lovely, bigger than I thought it looked on the website and had all the amenities we could think of. The internet access, the ipod dock, the large shower and the laundry all added up to make the stay pure perfection. The neighborhood was the cherry on the sundae... pretty shops, delicious markets and cosy restaurants added to the appeal. This was our third trip to France and this was by far, our favourite place we have stayed. thank you so much.
We had a WONDERFUL stay at the Picasso Garden apartment. We loved everything about it. The position, the beautifully appointed apartment and the fact that everything worked so well was a real pleasure to stay there. Yann was a very gracious host. He was charming and received us very nicely. He instructed us about the flat and was also very engaging in a little light conversation. I will always remember the fun we had there. We truly felt that Paris belonged to us for the time we were there as opposed to staying in a hotel. Thanks very much again, and keep up the good work as I have relayed all this to many friends already.
Exceptional property, agency and overall rental experience. The apartment was perfect, exactly as shown on the website and as described in other reviews. We were lucky enough to rent Elzevir for two months from Mid May to Mid July and it worked perfectly for both work and vacation. The space is beautifully designed and built out, the renovation detail was incredible. The location is perfect, near everything in the Marais and central Paris but on a quiet side street with a calming view of the neighboring buildings, trees and open sky. David our driver arranged through HIP was great, a stressfree arrival and departure worth every euro. Yann our greeter explained everything and was available for questions the entire stay. Thomas our local Paris contact at HIP was there in 20 minutes when the internet went down and even called and arranged a SOS Medecin visit when I injured my foot - the service from the entire organization was truly exceptional. Tips? Try the wine shop on rue Elzevir, the small cafe on the corner of Rue Sevigne by Parc Royal and the salads at Crepe Suzette (hard to find good salads in Paris). We had our favorite dinners at des Gars Dans la Cusine on Rue Vielle du Temple (the burger is the best in Paris). Explore the area around the Marche Enfants Rouge and the galleris near Rue Saintonge/Charlot. We had an incredible time and are already planning for next year.
The apartment was perfect! Yann greeted us warmly and patiently showed us how everything worked. We love the beautiful design details especially the efficient layout, well-stocked kitchen and wonderful shower. The building and courtyard are lovely and in a great location on a quiet street in the Marais. It was fun to pretend that we lived there and we plan to rent through HIP again.
I loved the apartment and your team was wonderful. It was the perfect birthday experience. Thanks again.
We have returned to Australia and now settled back into life after our trip to Paris. We had a wonderful time and loved the Picasso Garden apartment - the design, layout and location was beautiful. The taxi driver (Paris luxury taxi) was there to meet us at the airport and help with our luggage while our greeter (Yann) was waiting in the apartment for us. Both were wonderful, warm and friendly. It made all of us feel welcome. Overall we had a sensational time and look forward to returning in the future. Thanks and best regards.
The Picasso Garden property was perfect for our lovely week in the Marais. It couldn't be in a better location, and the combination of the historic building coupled with the modern and sleek interior was a big hit.
I greatly enjoyed my time at the Picasso Garden apartment. The apartment looks exactly as in the photos on the HiP website. It is an apartment of tremendous style in a building with enormous character. The apartment is very comfortable, with almost every amenity you could possibly want. The location is ideal for exploring the Marais - the heart of Paris. It is within easy walking distance of countless cafés, bistros, wine caves, cheese shops, boutiques etc etc. I was in Paris to study French and the apartment was a perfect base. It was great to be able to invite friends over for wine and cheese, and to cook the occasional meal. I will certainly be recommending the apartment to friends visiting Paris.
I have nothing but good things to say about the apartment and would happily rent it again. It was precisely as advertised. Very comfortable. Flawless heat and hot water. Great towels and linens. Arranging to meet the "greeter" was exceptionally simple. And upon meeting, he quickly but comprehensively gave a run down on the essentials. The space itself is lovely. I for one will be a return customer!
We just returned from a wonderful week in Paris at the Picasso Garden apartment. We were greeted by Olivier, who was wonderful and took the time to show us around the apartment. The apartment itself is fabulous and has all the amenities one needs to feel comfortable and at home! The apartment is in a great location in Marais - lots of cool boutiques and great restaurants and cafes. We loved the Marais neighbourhood and I definitely want to stay there on our next trip. We enjoyed some of the suggestions in the apartment guide and discovered a few other places on our own as well. After staying with Haven in Paris I would never book a hotel in Paris. In fact, I am looking forward to another trip soon and will definitely be staying with Haven in Paris.
The flat was truly outstanding and we had a fabulous time during our stay in Paris. Olivier (our greeter) was very helpful and arrived precisely at the agreed time to let us into the flat and provided a very effective overview. He was also available regularly by phone and on line when we had a few questions during our stay. We will definitely be contacting you for future visits to Paris and have already passed along your web site to friends who are planning trips to France.
After staying in a wonderful apartment in the Marais, I will never stay at a hotel in Paris again. The property that we rented actually exceeded our expectations with great modern minimalist design, attention to detail, international cable, free phone calls and internet, great water pressure in the shower and a full kitchen. The apartment was conveniently located, just minutes from the nearest Metro and perfectly situated in the neighborhood. Highly, highly recommended.
The apartment was beautiful and well equipped. We were a little worried about damaging the dining table and the wood kitchen counters, but the furnishings and design were actually quite functional. The location is also wonderful--the Marais is a very chic and lively part of town.
Our whole experience with renting a Haven in Paris apartment was wonderful. The Picasso Garden apartment was exactly like the pictures on the website and felt like home straight away Marais is a beautiful and interesting area of Paris. The staff at HIP were fantastic and responded to any queries straight away and did everything to make our stay in Paris very pleasant. We would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful apartment or Haven in Paris.
We just returned from the Picasso Garden Marais property after a terrific 9 day stay!! We will rent from you again and will recommend to our friends...You made our trip so special, merci beaucoup!!!!
Our family -- especially my wife -- loved the Picasso Garden apartment. The location was terrific, and the apartment itself was full of every amenity we could want. My wife, who has a better-developed esthetic sensibility, appreciated the contemporary style of the layout and furnishings. We had just arrived from five days in Barcelona, where we had rented an apartment on the Ramblas, and the contrast between the apartments was striking: we were glad that Paris came after Barcelona on the itinerary! Among the amenities, the Internet access and free telephone service proved to be essential to making our way around the city and running errands (we were in Paris primarily for a wedding). One minor drawback was the inability (or extra fee?) for calling cell phones from the house telephone, as so many people in Paris are only accessible by cell phone. The greeter was very good, explaining every feature of the apartment thoroughly and patiently, even though we arrived late. He also gave us valuable tips concerning local boulangeries, restaurants, shops, etc.
Mrs. Milani and I had a great time staying at your Paris, Marais, Picasso Garden apartment for a week in September/October 2008. Your apartment is remodeled very nicely, is convenient and is located in a great neighborhood and very conveniently close to many places. All the arrangements including the pick up from the Rail station and to the airport were nice and we appreciate it. If opportunity arises again, we will be delighted to stay with you anyplace you have facilities.
I was delighted with the property and with your service.
Having just stayed in an overpriced stuffy hotel apartment in Ireland arriving at the Picasso Garden apartment was like a breath of fresh air for myself and my family. The apartment was imaculately clean, modern and gave us a much more real sense of parisian life. The district in which it was situated was not only trendy and modern but also very inviting and warm, with a multitude of cafe's, restaurants and bakeries to choose from all offering superb cuisine. Travelling with a 2 year old little girl and a 13 year old teenager became less stressful and much more relaxed because we had a beautiful haven to come home to! Thanks Haven for giving us an amazing parisian experience.
I wanted to make sure to write to tell you that we had an extraordinary time--and how much we loved that apartment. It was just heaven to come back to--so sublime aesthetically and really quiet--in the middle of that busy wonderful neighborhood. Mark spent a lot of time there, cooking and working--and he loved it too. We so hope to get a schedule soon enough to book it for when we go back. Thanks again for making it so easy and efficient. Oliver (our greeter) was great.
A delightful apartment, the photos on the website give an accurate representation of the property. The apartment is in a quiet corner of the lovely Marais area. A great place to stay if you want to escape the tourist traps but still have easy access to the best of Paris by foot, Metro or Velibe. There is a great little market, restaurants and shops nearby. Olivier is very helpful.
First, we were very appreciative of the consideration and kindness shown by Olivier (our greeter). He was patient, helpful and thorough in his briefing on the apartment and the appliances. He also carried two heavy suitcases up the two flights. We found the apartment beautifully furnished. All the appliances are first class and the lighting is beautiful, with one shortcoming, there is only one reading lamp. Finally, the bed is very comfortable, but difficult to get out of for those over 25 years. Personally, I would raise the bed by two cinderblocks. The forgoing are not really complaints, but recommendations. I was particularly pleased to find sufficient laundry, dishwashing and sink soap and certain condiments in the apartment. The other occupants of the complex were all very friendly and kind, even the cats. We look forward to another visit soon.
This rental company is excellent. They responded instantly, were available, gave accurate information and arranged for a great greeter, Olivier, to help us get to the apartment and get settled once we got there. We were traveling with three young kids (3, 8, and 9 years old) and the apartment was plenty big and comfortable for us. The kids really liked the circular window from the shower to the kitchen. We really liked the washer and dryer. We cooked several meals in the well stocked and outfitted kitchen. The towels, linen, and other accoutrements were also excellent. The Metro was very close and the Monoprix (supermarket and department store) down the block from the metro was fantastic. There were great boulangeries and traiteurs on rue St. Antoine. Having the Picasso museum down the block and the Pompidou center a short walk away was also great (get a museum pass for 4-6 days!). If you could please arrange to have the Carousel removed next to the metro the next time we visit we would get to see much more of Paris - thanks. I am recommending your company to everyone I know who is visiting Paris.
We hope to return to the Picasso Garden apartment again. To the owner, thanks for offering such a well designed and furnished space. Olivier, thanks for bringing the toys and dvds for our kids. And thanks Haven in Paris for the comprehensive website. We really enjoyed our stay.
We thought the apartment was fabulous, and Olivier, the greeter, was perfect. He even called us during the week to see how everything was going... a perfect pied-a-terre for two in Paris. The apartment was charming, well-decorated and well-equipped, with real thoughtfulness for short-term visitors. We were totally pleased with everything. We will happily return to the Picasso Garden apartment.
I loved the apartment! Fabulous design, just the right space and light, and the neighborhood is so friendly. Camille's on the corner became our regular dining spot. Great food, nice people, I will rent the apartment again. Olivier is the best! He arranged for an excellent cab service and got us settled in, showed us how everything worked, and it was nice to know he was there to help out in case we ran into any difficulties. Thank you again for arranging the rental. We very much look forward to our next visit.
It was a dream apartment, I would love to stay for about 3 months, and just loose myself in its fabulousness. I plan to use this apartment several times a year, it was SPECTACULAR. I normally stay at the usual haunts Ritz's Plaza Athene or the Park Hyatt, but they are so over priced and the rooms seem to becoming more like closets than the luxury of the past, that I will alway use any apartment that HIP recommends.
